Re: The Video Game thread
Any Batman fans? On my second play through of Arkham Asylum.
Excellent game, probably my favorite superhero game ever made...but part of that is nostalgia from the cartoons.

Re: The Video Game thread
THIS excites me:

Doesn't mention exactly what it is by name, but "Mr. Needlemouse" was an early name for Sonic the Hedgehog. Also, the retro "SAY-GAA" voice at the beginning HAS to be an obvious giveaway,
A NEW 2D Sonic game? YES FUCKING PLEASE. As great as Sonic Unleashed was, the best stuff was in some ways the 2D bits in the "Daytime" levels
Also, check this out. It would kick 57 varieties of ass to see a revamped Green Hill zone (apart from the hidden extra in Sonic Adventure 2: Battle), especially if it looks as lovely as Sonic Unleashed did, thanks to the Hedgehog engine.
As a fan since the first in 1991, I am definitely excited over this.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey... stuff.

I tend to try and not keep high hopes for certain games, because most of the time, it's a complete let down ;D I'm raging because Nintendo of America is blocking Fatal Frame 4 from coming over D;< Faggots.

I cannot disagree with that last sentence.
Sonic Unleashed was, in a way a partial return to form for the franchise. The "Daytime" levels were really all you could ask for in current-gen Sonic game. The 3D parts controlled fine and the camera didn't suck, and the 2D bits were very much vintage Sonic. The "nighttime"/Werehog levels were also decent, if a little repetitive. Played like a simplified God of War.
But, yes, I hope they don't screw this up. I'm hopeful, but I know this all too well:

Hilariously though, even with the prospect of Sonic going fully-2D again, some Sonic fans are already having fits of rage over it. The supposed "hardcore" Sonic fans are almost impossible to please in 2009, it would seem. The thing to do at this point is to proceed with caution until more info becomes available.
P.S. I should also point out that www.needlemouse.com has been confirmed as a fake site by Sega themselves. The Trailer and game are legit (the video I posted came from Sega America's YouTube channel), but not the site. Hopefully though Sega realises that a lot of people would like to see Green Hill etc in glorious HD.

Re: The Video Game thread
Just bumping this to say:
I LOVE TEKKEN 6.
Hideously broken boss aside, most fun I've had playing a game in some time. And they did the decent thing and brought back the yellow "game of death" tracksuit for Law. Such a little thing, but that made me happy after it was missing from Tekken 5.
I've loved the mini-renaissance of the fighting game this year. I hope it continues into next year. SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV is out next year, obviously I'll be buying that. I think I need to work on my joystick technique. I can't bust out super combos etc like I could on a pad. The Sanwa JLF stick I'm using in my Madcatz SE Fightstick seems a bit loose-feeling for Street Fighter. Might try a Seimitsu LS-32, they're supposed to be stiffer. Might do the job.

I don't see "Haloz in space" on that list...

Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

Meh, im not much into halo, I especially, really, REALLY hate their ad campaign. Halo also seems like pretty much just an online multiplayer frag-fest, and I certainly don't ahve the time to get good enough at halo to do anyting but get "pwnd" in the arena.

I've never played Halo online, but when I'm at some of my friends' places, we play Halo 3 and laugh at how terrible we all are. It's quite enjoyable, unlike hearing all the prepubescent kids screaming on XBL.

Re: The Video Game thread
Batman was the shit...it was awesome that they used the 90's cartoon cast.
Assassins creed 2 will own if they fixed the problems of the first one.
Halo is fun with a few people over, but I rarely play online, I'm not big on the whole fragfest scene.
I'd check out fallout3 GOTY if you are into that sorta thing.
