Whoa, that sounds completely different from the pedal I used. The low end was thunderous, and the high end had this awesome crazy metallic quality to it. I wonder how much the driving notions vary from one another.

When I cranked the lows on mine I got like swelling subby oscillation and when I cranked the highs it was like the thickest treble booster ever. That thing was rad, just way too clangy for what I was doing. I want one again though.

Yeah, seems like something is wrong wit repoman's Driving Notion I'd say.
There are differences, univalve his first edition Driving Notion sounds a bit better to me as it has slightly more midrange in there, the newer ones have a bit more gain though.

hmm...I guess metallic clank would describe the high end well..very cranked presence like. It is kinda scooped but the bass is not huge and there is not a ton of gain/distortion. It's just the lows woof out or make sputtery fuzz kinda sounds but they never get big. It's one of the white ones, I think theres a bare aluminum one and a white one? Dunno if they are different

Weird, my Driving Notion is almost all highs and not a lot of lows at all. Like an insane amount of highs, I usually dial the treble gain at noon, lows up to 1 or 2 o'clock and the balance at 11 o'clock. :wha?:

I love it, its like a tube screamer on crack or something.[/quote]

Mine is the same. I have the treble turned all the way down on it with the bass about midway and it still is a bit trebly. It's a great sound and a bit Albini-esque in the highs.

I have one of the newer White box Driving Notions and this nails the sound of mine, kinda disappointed I cant get it to self oscillate.

Don't know if I'm turned on or off by the DN now. The inconsistency and rig dependency seems annoying IMO. Anything rig dependent has never sounded good in my setup.

Maybe it's just going through a transformation? Get it? I'll show myself out.

In my opinion infanem stuff is something you have to Open yourself for and don't force it in your Play/Setup.
