Awesome sounds Nora! Now I want more tuned percussion.
Have you tried contact-mics on cymbals? Sound very cool, especially through pedals.

I borrowed some singing bowls for a solo drone/ambient gig I did a couple of years ago,
and just remembered I got on camera:

The singing bowls come in at around 12:00.

No idea how you imbed Vimeo, but it sounds great! Thanks for sharing. I really like the guitar bowing parts too. You can bow singing bowls too if you ever get them back.

Do you have any examples of contact mics on cymbals? I would be interested in hearing that. I don't own any cymbals, so it is not something I can try.

Thanks

Nora

Only recording I can think right now is this video of Norwegian noise rock trio Staer:

Their (amazing) drummer uses contactmics on some of his cymbals.
This video isn't the best example, but it is there, but so I alot of other noises.
Sounds really fucked when it is heard live in concert, super loud! Earcrushing!

But you can do mellow, atmospheric stuff as well.
I need to get my ass over to our rehearsal space and steal some of my drummers broken cymbals to experiment more.

Like that.

Remove the "s" from "https". Add "www." before "vimeo".

There's no way I can compete with a self-proclaimed intuitive musician. :( I'm out.

That's all I can do at this point. I did subscribe to his channel as I am curious to see what he comes up with. I have a feeling it may be a bit too new-agey and too heavy on the chakras and self-importance for my liking though.
