Are you gluten free? Gotta be tough living in New Haven!

I'm not gluten-free. I just haven't been eating wheat and I'm living in Philly. That's sort of a moot point because I can't afford to eat out anyway.

Philly's not so bad though as far as dining out goes. Definitely a weird restaurant scene. Generally a little too high-concept for me. Some good (if not great) ethnic places. Unfortunately not Thai though. :(

Ah yeah I've eaten at some pretty decent places there but it's been quite a long time. Vetri's supposed to be some of the best Italian food in the country... pricy though. Probably worth it for a once-a-year-or-two splurge :p

I think the only pricey restaurant I've eaten at in Philly is Zahav. It was pretty good.

Haven't eaten at any of Marc Vetri's places. He recently sold a majority stake in his restaurant group to Urban Outfitters.

Yeah, I don't think it includes Vetri (the restaurant) itself, but does include all his other restaurants and well as the rights for expansion. :idk:

Is that the main course or merely a side dish?

Not quite as good as meth, but I made coconut curry collard greens the other day and they were so fucking good.

That sounds amazing, do you just braise them in the coconut milk with your curry spices?

Bought about 6 pounds of ribs to make for some friends tomorrow, but pork shoulder was on sale so I impulse bought 5 pounds of that too.

Thanks, I don't think I've been there. Will have to check that out. Almost all the Thai places I've been to've been kinda "meh". I've been to a Thai/Lao place just off of Washington and it was good, but not great. There're some supposedly great Vietnamese places up where I live now, but I still haven't had a chance to eat at 'em.

I stuck a couple tablespoons of red onion and half a clove of garlic, both chopped up, into the rice cooker with 90g brown rice. I will microwave a sliced zucchini and then I will toss everything with a dressing of olive oil, soy, molasses and the other half of the clove of garlic. lunch

I'm kinda in the mood for some blueberry ice cream. It's not quite blueberry season yet though.
