so..... there's a good chance this thread will be archived by next week. the owner of Luck Duck Pedals sent me an email, VERY politely asking if i could take down the stuff online that could damage his business. that's not unexpected, and a big part of why i had no interest in getting a free pedal when he offered. i want my decisions to be as clear as possible with stuff like this.

i talked to Thom The Dalton and he said it's possible to archive this thread where it's not searchable anymore, but if a problem with LDP pops up again it can be brought back easily. i asked some advice of Daltz and other builders i respect the double butts out of, and doing that and hiding the YT vidja as a private vid in the same way as the threads seem to be the right thing to do. we all know what happened, if something like this DOES go down again, we can ask Mssr. Dalton to put things out there again.

but i like to think that LDP's builder is a good guy that handled a situation poorly. he did eventually refund my entire purchase price, he offered me a pedal to make amends, which he didn't have to do, and i know how hard some bad word of mouth can hit a small business. i work in one. i'd like to think if i made a mistake i'd have the chance to learn from it instead of being tarred by it forever.

so, yeah. i would never buy anything from LDP again. but i don't wish him any bad will or harm. i think he saw that a lot of the ways i think are a good way to treat your customers, might be the better way to go.
