I'm pretty good at separating the actions of an individual/group of individuals from their art/product/etc. They certainly won't be getting any of my money, but I'll still enjoy the music.

And let's not turn the above statement into a discussion of downloadan musics over the interbutts

wasn't it just a kid sized kit placed there as a prop?

Zach was probably still the one who bought it but, as I said,

Disrespecting the people that give you the opportunity to do what you love to do is so dumb.

Exactly. There's a great Noisey article about this incident, and this quote is especially true/relevant:
"Ultimately, whenever a band—especially a punk band, and especially one prone to outbursts as Death Grips—pulls half-baked stunts like this, it comes across as the equivalent of a stoned teenager wearing an Anarchy t-shirt he bought at Spencer’s Gifts crashing his mom’s Volvo into a ditch on purpose. It’s not rebelling against anything, and it solves nothing. It’s just stupid."

I mean, as if their music wasn't bad enough to begin with...

but "a stoned teenager wearing an Anarchy t-shirt he bought at Spencer’s Gifts" is the target audience.

Yeah it was. Did the people going to the no show gigs get reimbursed for them? I like Death Grips a lot but if some band made me pay for a show and then bailed leaving some lame essay that looks like it was written by a secondary school kid on a fuck projector, I'd fucking want to break all their shit and more.

I read some interesting post somewhere on a forum stating that this was a kind of distancing of image thing on their part. Cool idea but lame as fuck in practice.

:p I was the opposite. I mean "FUCK THIS BIRD BITCH DRINK THIS BLEACH" is just too hilarious to be a serious statement

If they keep getting more and more unhinged with each album, I wonder how long it will take for them to just be a noise band.

Heard it hear first.

Also, I'm pretty sure Exmilitary is the only album of theirs I really dig. I can't get into Money Store or the Dick Pic.
