Question: is there any way to incorporate a clean blend into the design of the II or III?

Yup.

I am considering it. I need to talk to Ken about it. I have a feeling it won't be a problem but I gotta make sure I keep the build time / parts count low enough to keep the price where it is.

For those who have been confused about the contribution rewards and such, we updated them and added a nice info graphics for ya.
Also I am updating the video because I know I was a complete rambly mess the first time.

$1000 pledge should get a leather bandolier with pockets to hold up to 10 cartridges.

I read "pledge" and wondered "why did she misspell pedge?".
Devi, first
I hope this comes out. I really do. I wanted it to come out when I misappropriated $145 of student loans on it a bit over a year ago.
I just no longer want one. but, then again, I'm just some jackoff on the Internet.

If the funding gets raised in time I have no doubt that this will be awesome. I do have one concern.
A big problem with those old video game cartridges is dust and dirt. While they at least had dust jackets and covers over the pin receiver, I haven't read about any similar protections for the console systems. I don't want to spend five minutes on stage blowing into an Atari-like cartridge right from the getgo.

Actually the problem wasn't dust and dirt... it was loose connectors. Blowing on cartridges to clean dust and dirt is an urban myth.
1) We're using modern, extremely tight and durable connectors.
2) The console comes with enough cartridges to fill every hole... so just make sure the holes are filled and you are golden.
3) Computers everyday run into many more dust and dirt problems than the Console ever will and obviously are much more complicated machines that run YEARS with out ever needing cleaning, but if dust and dirt do become and issue, a can of air will fix things right up no problemo.

But yeah... ain't gonna be an issue. I've addressed this and a few other things via the new FAQ : http://kck.st/LIZgbT

urrrrr.... Urban Myth my shiny white ass. the rest of that post sounds goot but i know from empirical evidence that giving head to cartridges worked wonders. if you had said dust wasn't an issue, they just worked better after you bumped their self-esteem up by blowing them i'd buy it.

i think the ultimate iteration of this would be a semi compact digital thing with accurate recreations of pedals form the folks involved.
basically a cooler, simpler version of the Axe FX which, as much as i like in theory, is a thing that i think is arranged in a way only understandable to engineers.
