I will freely admit I'm the falsest of metal dabblers. When I see references to metal bands I like they generally are derided by the trv kvlt people. This may have something to do with my ambivalent attitude toward macho metal orthodoxy.

Oh what the actual fuck. I got like 5 sentences in and....just....no. is it worth reading the whole thing for comedic effect, or is it just wholly insufferable?

I mean let's just say you had to choose between that and Opeth. You'd be wandering through a foggy forest looking for a Gothic castle in about 4 minutes.....

I mean I get why people don't like them, but at least their fucking metal, not this stupid pseudo-intellectual ridiculousness. Transcendental? More like transcedengofuckyourselfrightinthegoatass amirite lads?

I can't get into Temples. I've heard one or two tracks, and it all feels so contrived and forced. Like they're a prefabricated band created to be an even more accessible version of Tame Impala, but with a sound closer to The Doors to appeal to those fans as well.

But that's just me?

I'm kind of impartial. I think that Jim Morrison was a prophet though.

also

press release wrote: "On the proper version of the album, drummer Jonah Falco plays two simultaneous drum takes, and layered into/underneath that are another two simultaneous takes of the drums played in half-time, which adds a psychedelic, disorienting feel. The limited vinyl edition will include a bonus version that ONLY features the two half-time tracks."

Funny that this showed up today on my "list of bands I care about".
