bronzetalon wrote:I'm uploading the demo now. I wanted to focus on the low gain mode since I think kayzer covered the high gain pretty well in his demos. For this quick demo the gain was at minimum with just a hair of clean blended in. The cosmichorus was set to a flangy tone and the SDD was set to alot of shorts repeats with the modulation rate in time with the repeats and the depth to taste (not to much).

Sounds good :thumb:

I should have this in a day or two, get ready for the more brutal tones

Totally awesome demo, Ian, thanks very much! Really cool tones and it's neat to hear you use the Frazz in a different way again, sounds good as an overdrive!

Sorry to hear the job hunt isn't going your way, Manuel, hope it changes soon. *job mojos*

The Frazz has arrived! I jammed on it for a good twenty minutes and it is sick!

Mainly I just cranked the gain and let loose some stoner/doom stuff, but with the mix pulled back you can get some cool lower gain tones as well!

The Frazz will be joining the Pharaoh, Manx, Fuzz War and Eau Claire Thunder in a high gain fuzz shootout for my blog. The proper review should be up Sunday and I'll ship out Monday.

Oh and I absolutely love the footswitch, wish every pedal I owned had one :thumb:

Are these much more expensive than 3PDT switches? I really don't see much reason not to otherwise :idk:

Here's a rough demo a friend and I did. He played the first section with a strat and the mix at about 4 o' clock, I thought the mix feature was pretty cool for his stuff and my friend really dug it as well and is interested in buying one in the future :thumb:

I played the higher gain part, gated with the max maxed and gain maxed, it was good fun

More demos will be up today! I love the aggressive top end bite this thing has, never played a fuzz quite like it.

Great clip, Mike, thanks!

The soft touch switching is a bit more of an ordeal than the standard 3PDT. It runs off a micro, a mini computer with user-programmed code that tells an output to go high or low depending on the press of the switch. The code took me 3 months to write and that was with a ton of help from code guru Austin Lightfoot. Each micro has to be programmed using a little USB programmer, one at a time, just takes a few seconds though.

So you need the micro, a regulator to run the micro, and a transistor to drive the relay that handles the actual switching of the in/out signals. 2 relays for a stereo pedal. The switching in the new Tremolessence is about $10 in parts. I think it's totally worth it though since it's so bullet-proof.

I completely agree, I usually don't take well to gated fuzz but the Frazz sounded just right, super aggressive, palm mute all day long....... I also loved the low gain side, preferred it actually, just really wide open and plenty heavy, like two fuzz options crammed in one tiny box! That soft touch switching is tits too, only have one other pedal that actually utilizes it.

For everyone who's made demos, awesome job guys, really showing several different sides of the Frazz.

Thanks again Ryan for allowing the Frazz to travel!

I knew I liked those switches. Now I know it's because they are practically robots.

Robots.
