I totally agree with the goatkeeper. The thing about the 8-step is it doesn't have the various sweeps and ramps that the goatkeeper or broadcast would (shapes)...but the sweep isn't that noticable sometimes.

I think the 8-step is really nice for the price...it does a lot.

I wanted a Superfuzz, but this fucker just destroys it. Tell me more about this special little apple on the Fuzz tree.
Check out the Earthquaker Devices Fuzz Master General. That is inspired by the old 60s Japanese made Fuzz Master. Apart from that I can't offer anymore info.
That and the limited edition EQD Grim Reefer are the only FM-2 clones that I've seen, and that surprises me since it just sounds so much better than a Superfuzz.

Or my LAL 88. Hey, galvar, have you tried that? Is it as awesome as it is in my head?

I've only had the 8-step for a little bit. I've only been using it to give me random delays on the DOD FX94 with the mods i've done. Maybe I will make a video of that too.

I'll do some testing video here in a second. Yea, how about 88 with all three? haha

Be back in a bit with something.

I picked up my 8-step for 115 as an open box/demo with full warranty which is probably why I think it is a good deal. Plus it has a memory expansion!

Alright, I recorded the video and tried the 88 with all three (going to take a while for the vids to upload and stuff) but the 88 doesn't like the 8-step at all.

The copilot it loved and did awesome stuff with...can't recommend the broadcast more for versitility.

The goatkeeper worked, but it sounds too rigid and meh. It worked ok.

So yea for the 88 I would use the copilot. Just so many more possibilities. I know the goatkeeper has worked with other things with exp in well, but so far the 8-step wants to be in a CV environment (which I assume has something to do with sweep/shape and impedance/voltage issues...even though it says CV/EXP out...is there something I am doing wrong?) I will get the video up in a tonight at some point.

8-step worked great on the cv stuff I used it with though. Goatkeeper...I just don't know about it yet...it just has this choppy sound that I don't like...I'm still on the fence about it even though it is my second one (couldn't pass up the deal).

Time to move my fridge out of the living room!

always surprised me that the broadcast seemingly doesn't get more play. its really dope all the waveforms and everything.

The broadcast seems to work in a higher variety of situations that the others do. I think it has an intuitive setup and a good variety of waveforms. The S+H waveform is less random than the 8-step though. However, there is a smoothness to the copilot that the others really can't match (to my ear at least).

8-step has really nice features for it's price range though. I think the goatkeeper is overrated personally.

Did you try lower depth (sometimes even below noon) and different waveform settings on the Goatkeeper?

Yea, went through all of it...I dunno, just something about it that sounds less fluid than other LFOs to me. but it could be the stuff I am using it with too.

Truth, it can be picky, I do love it as a step trem though.
An externally BPM syncable Broadcast with more waveforms like 8 and 16 step for instance would be tits.

I don't know if I should put this in general "happiness" thread or here, but I think it is more fitting here.

I get to take my pedals out of the house for the first time in YEARS (like 7 or 8) to go jam with someone that wants me to show them the ropes on pedals. He's a cello player. And his sister (who is a touring singer songwriter lady) wants to learn about pedals too. Said he wanted me to bring a wah...and all I could think of was rattle crow but remembered I have a roland double beat too.

So I guess his first pedals he ever plays through will be a Moog 104-z, Roland AD-50 Double Beat, sick pitch king and count to 5 (based off what he wanted to try). I am going to sneak in my sinphoton, rattle crow, and something else too (I'm not supposed to bring my guitar at the request of other guests because watching us jam is "boring" but fuck 'em). (his home stereo is like a 1000-watt Peavey PA he got for turn tables...so it should be fun)

I dunno, pretty awesome...ummm, yea...going to have to finish the video when I get home...sorry Eivind.

Oh and that broadcast would be awesome Tristan. Adam makes awesome stuff.
