I need to find a pair of work boots that can handle concrete floors 9 to 5, Monday to Friday and last more than a year.

Dr Martins rock, so do Redwings [I've had 5 or 6 pairs of redwings], I've had good and bad with danners.. after 7 years straight of standing on concrete I am really happy to have a desk job [although I still stand a lot] It's taken a year for my left foot to feel normal again.. the last six months of that job were hell, I was in so much pain at that end of the day.. really dude if possible keep moving about vs standing if you can, it's the standing in one spot for hours that kills your feet… If I was still doing my old job I'd get a pair of these

how High up are they?
Took the photo after a lot of polishing!

They're about 8" bottom to top, sole is around 1.5" if that's what you meant

Oh, yeah. I've been destroying shoes for five years at this job. My last pair of redwings were garbage and fell apart.
Working in car restoration, I have to deal with water and chemicals on top of regular wear.
Looking into Dr. Martens, it looks like the Gunbys may do me nice.

Were they real redwings or their "work" shit? those I've had fall apart in the oddest ways… but yeah for chemicals Docs rock, The redwings I used when I did a lot of fiberglass shit were their firefighter boots, those things held up to being cleaned off with acetone weekly  If you are going safety toe though with docs get them a size bigger than normal if you have wide feets :thumb:

They were "work" shit, for sure. Duly noted on the steel toe. It looks like any shoe I would get has the toe.

And i pulled these out this morning because we have fucking snow all around here:

But they suck quite hard: not that comfy as i remembered them. My Docs are a lot better.

I love docs, though I haven't owned a pair in 20+ years. Am curious though. Since they are now made in China, I wonder if they are still the foot ware choice for the Neo Nazi skinheads.
