apparently today's sickness was the result of a 24-hour flu so icky that they closed down the school my friend Feather's mother teaches at. which means that i should feel decent tomorrow. Thank God for small favors.

So my Grandpa is dying. Soon. He has cancer, in his lungs and maybe his brain. He is 81, he was an Iron Worker for 50 years, so that is really old for those rough living SOBs. He worked with asbestos and smoked for a long time.
He taught me so much about working with my hands, about being a man. I always think about something he told me when school gets hard, "You gotta be tough if you want to be dumb son". I was an Iron Worker for 7 years or so and now I am about a year away from graduating with a Bachelors from UF. I wish Papa was going to make it to my wedding this fall and my graduation next year.
I spent today at the VA hospital with him. After I left it really hit me. I AM REALLY SAD.

That does sound really sad. I haven't lost any of my living grandparents, but I can imagine how tough this must be. It's great your spending time with him and that you have the memories and lessons he has given you.

I want dumplings fo sheezy. I'm hungry and I'm still drinking, but it's only 2AM here.

I'm stuck in this weird place where I have friends I could be hanging out with, but I'm kind of bored with/know I won't be around much longer (once I move out of this town in a month or so). I'm also sick of drinking/getting stoned and driving, so I'm just feeling better getting drunk at home by myself.

Once I move, I'll be able to walk/take the bus anywhere, so yeah. Just in a weird place where I'm not quite in an awesome place, but know shit will be getting ultra kick-ass in just a little while.

We moved into a new place last week, and the lady that lives above is being a HUGE bitch. She rents too, and the driveway is plenty big enough for two cars to park side by side, but she keeps parking right in the middle. Talked to the landlord, who said that the driveway is for both of us and she has to park so that we can too.

Well I got home earlier today and parked way off to the side of the driveway so that she could park too. Well I noticed half an hour ago that she's parked right in the middle again behind me, totally blocking me from being able to leave. And I have to go to work in half an hour, and she's not answering my texts or calls. Fuck.

I have these feelings. The exact same feelings right now. Except it's more that I'm just disgusted with being around Mormons all the time.

i'm ameliorating my feelings of useless stuckitude and entertaining myself by answering odd ads from women on Craigslist. no, not THAT odd...i have SOME standards. it's the ads i don't answer, but merely read, that really amaze. i suspect that somewhere out there is a vast server containing the photos of all the poor sods who e-mailed them to each other, just being readied for a book called SAD PEOPLE OF CRAIGSLIST.
