That's my newest toy. Since I hate using laptops for music I was on a quest for a hardware sequencer. Originally I bought RM1x, which was cool but had three broken keys (oh, ebay  ). So I decided to pick QY700 instead. Still going through manual, but it's fun to just hook it up to Blofeld and make a complete tune with 16 synth parts in multimode. I actually consider using Blofeld as a drum machine as an addition to my Electribe, since I have keyboard version and it has samples that I can mangle with a synth engine.

Microbrute is on my gas-list as well. I really want to pair Mini (which I already have) and Micro for and ultimate Monobrute :joy:

Damn, the System 1 is brilliant. Korg really needs to follow this now and make a hardware host/controller for their legacy collection.

Saturday evening synth jamz (aka I'm super tired and am providing my own zoning out soundtrack)...
Jerk Kerouac (harsh noise)
Kalimantan (improv not-jazz shambles)
ZDICM (space-drone-synth-thing)

I need to try the Trinity on my Moog Little Phatty. But I CAN'T get myself to. It brings so much to the MK.

Hey guys.
I'm looking to change up my setup and want to look into getting 2 new synths.
I want one for deep bass tones (enough to replace a bass player, big thick bass)
and another to run into pedals for ambient/noise/pads. some polyphony here would be very useful. doing organ tones is a big plus.
don't need any arpegiators or anything typical for trance/electronic music.
presets are a must.

any suggestions?
big cap on budget at 2500$, but 1500$ would be ideal.
Any ideas yet on the arrival for the Sub37 and System-1 ?

The Sub37 is dope looking. It could definitely do the bass and more, it could drone, do leads, etc.

Pads mean that you need plenty of voices, often cheapest in digital. I would look at a Waldorf Blofeld or maybe an older Access Virus, like a Virus C or B.

I would say that if you are trying to do around $1500 I would get a Moog Minitaur or Little Phatty plus one of the above synths.

Covers bass and pads :joy: I miss my desktop Blofeld  My only complaints are that sometimes you need to go into the filter section and give it a boost to compensate for low output volume. Also, with some parameter tweeks, you have to press a key to hear the change. Otherwise, its an amazing synth!

I play with the Moog synths every time I go to banjo center, they are fucking sweet! The Arturia synths give good bass, but the Steiner filter is not quite as good for deep bass as the Moog filters. You should check out the Novation Bass Station II if you get a chance.

Bass station II is sweet. If you need polyphony, Ultranova or Blofeld ?

Yeah, I have a Blofeld keyboard and it sounds absolutely incredible but it is buggy and very hard to match output volume between patches. I wouldn't use it live but for recording it is a phenomenal synth.

I'd be interested to hear what someone that has tried both has to say. The Blofeld made my day even though I sold it to fund more gear lust

Yeah, it froze on me a couple times. Mine was current with the updates. I sold it less than a year ago. The bugginess was pretty minimal for me. I would buy another Blofeld even though it has some quirks.

I had Ultranova and still have Blofeld. I think Blo sounds much better.
