Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
I went to a local guitarshop yesterday and played a bunch of the Syle/Holowon pedals, from a local builder that PumpkinPieces and others have talked up 'round these parts. The Velcro is super cool and tweakable (wish I could have played it louder) & the Static Egg fuzz was nice and gritty and cool. I almost bought it on impulse haha. I also tried their newest pedal, the Tape Soup which is this weird chorusy pitch bend effect that kinda sounds like slowing down a tape then speeding it back up really quick. Cool stuff.
& I played them all with this Harmony Stratotone, old cheapy guitar but it felt and sounded amazing. If only I had $800 laying around...

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
I'm hungry for a new guitar.
Needs some sort of vibrato (Bigsby would be interesting, but it's not a dealbreaker).
Been thinking about a Jaguar or a Jazzmaster because they're so delicious.
Only complication is that I can't break the bank; budget is probably $500-ish, unless I sell some old gear (which is very plausible but that takes so long). The Johnny Marr Signature has given me ridiculous amounts of GAS but I know I can't afford it at all (and even if I sell gear I still won't be able to reach that kind of money).

I impulse bought this in the matter of 20sec, maybe less. (That is half the time this guy can sustain according to the site so I guess I did well.)

But like...get a Squier, and then do all those mods to it, and save like...$800.
I really have to resist getting one of those Squier Jags and putting lipsticks in it. I think that'll be my birthday gift to myself come January.

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
There's a squier Jag and a squier mustang and the local guitar store, and both are dead sexy. The store doesn't know how to deal with floating bridges, so the setups are awful. And this valley is full of metalheads and chicken-pickin', country fuckers, so, no one but me has ever played them (at least according to the people in the store).
I'm thinking that they will lower the price on them before too long just to get rid of them. And when they do I think I'm going to pick one up :ani

Didn't really dig the Badascan for whatever reason. Well, I should say I dug it for what it did and it made heavies well, I just could never play fast with it and it's a serious disadvantage to me to not be able to be both thick and fast/not muddy at the same time :-/
And it's taken a shit ton of money and trial and error to realize that half the shit I had before is what I wanted or I could DIY most of my effects because the boards out there in the wild rule.

Holy shit. I liked the Super Moon but it didn't get black hole-ish enough. This does. Might have to pick it up if it's still $100 when I get paid

Lipsticks in a Jag sounds AMAZING. And you can still bring heavies. I regret nothing putting lipsticks in my Jag.

Get a 2012 VM Jazzy. It's so nice out of the box, but with a little modding to it, it gets even better. And the quality is great.

I'll see if I can hook joo up. The one I got was local for mega cheap 'cause it had a busted pot BUT I replaced it with one that's a slightly different value. PSH. Works like a champ.
I love you![]()
that would be really nice.
CLIP. Passive Jazz Bass direct into a Tascam US144MKII. No alteration whatsoever. The "Guts" knob/ low knob was at nearly full the whole time for some low-end retention. At one point I max every control out and didn't alter the volume so I dropped the volume on that one section. Trust me, it may sound weird but you do NOT want it at what I recorded it at. Ears...still bleeding. After that weird volume drop I have the controls knocked back and start using my bass's volume to alter the sound. Tried to make it as short and sweet as possible. FUCK CHOPS. Sorry if it's brutally annoying.
