Brian's custom art is the best. As are his pedz

Current GAS situation: holy shit CBA's "type B" RAT is fucking awesome.

Ultra super gas for an 18watt Marshall kit though. I don't have the balls to do it from scratch, but I want dem toanz. I just need like $350 for it

Dude you should totally do it. Your wiring is neat as shit enough to build one

On a completely unrelated note Officer, I poked around the SM clone I bought from you when I was new to the forum last night, added a starve control and a guitar/bass toggle which just puts another mustard cap on the input for low passing. ITS SO KEWEL

Seriously, it's crazy cool. Surpassed the ECT for the bassiest pedal I've played.

I know I can do it, I just realllllyyyyyy hope it works right the first time.. Trouble shooting that would be a bitch. But I feel like it would be a really good amp for me. The kit I'm looking at just has a volume knob and a tone knob which is PERFECT for me. I just want a nice crunchy sound that I can slam with a fuzz sometimes or clean up with my volume knob/picking sometimes.

The SM - Dude that sounds awesome! I love that you're experimenting with that circuit! The turretboard is great for that

I can't really imagine it being even more bassy! What value cap did you use? Does the switch just add it in parallel with the input cap? You gotta do a demo mang!

Yeah, I'm nervous to go into the tube amp building/repair world, although modding my valve junior has been fun other than when I shocked the shit out of myself swapping out the power transformer hahahaha

And yeah dude, it's a .047uf Sozo that just smooths out all of the fuzz and the hiss and makes it super usable on bass. I had done another mod earlier, I don't know what I connected but it boosts the volume about 10x as loud and make the circuit act really blown out and bass heavy, and then on top of the bass cap mod (which is connected from the input to the center lug of the volume pot via a toggle) just sounds nuts. It gets kind of super squashed square sometimes which I'm not always a fan of, but in other situations sounds great. I'll definitely need to make a demo here soon. I'm thinking about buying a larger enclosure for it so that I can top mount the jacks and have more room to add a bunch more switches, I found about 5-6 more different connections that acted NUTS.

Sounds like a pretty rad mod. A mega modded version with a bunch of switches sounds cool. You could probably get some ridiculous sounds out of it. You can always flip the 2N2907 around for the VFM which is pretty cool too. Just swap the collector and emitter around

I really love that circuit for bass, but slightly prefer the Hyperion for guitar. Have you tried it? The Hyperion 2 has a starve on 9v- that lets you get some oscillation too if you're into that. It's a really nice circuit for doomy fuzz and it's a real easy build.

Nah, I've not tried the Hyperion yet, I'll have to try that out!

And I might just have to do that VFM mod tonight, I've got a spare 3PDT toggle that I saw laying around last night. CHEAH

It's gonna need a bigger box fo sho. Gotta check my stash. I know I've got a lot of 1590B's from Sonny, I'm not sure of anything larger though. IT WILL BE DONE

Go for it! If you want to go extra crazy, you can also switch the 2N2907 with a 2N2222 and you get the GZ

I love that pic, how each knob has a reflection from a different angle.
