How well does it intonate at that short of a scale?

Needs a little more tweaking and a few days of stretching out but right now the intonation's nearly perfect. I got tired of adjusting stuff and wanted to play.
I had to change out two of the guitar tuners for bass ones. Kinda tedious to change the strings on it but eh. The REALLY annoying part was making the aluminum nut slots wider.

I wonder if rosin sticks to guitar strings.

Hmm good to know. I assume you had to use a long scale string and cut it down? I'm looking at getting a short scale and wanna tune down to D or C.

What kinda yams are you gonna do with that short scale you keep talkin bout??? Acoustic Guitar Fuzz and Short Scale would be cool...

Yeah, I got a balanced set from circle k strings, they're all for 34" scale (.130 .098 .073 .055 .039 .028)
Unfortunately they don't make short scale strings, maybe someone else makes really big ones.
If the body wasn't string-through a few inches behind where the bridge starts, I dunno if the .130 would have worked...right now the biggest part of the string is just reaching the tuning post. So I mean if it had to be wrapped 2-3 times, ehhhhh...

You mean if it if it weren't string through you would ave had to wrap the bigger part of the string around the tuning peg?

Acoustic fuzz is awesome, I would really dig a project with lots of dirty acoustic. But I mainly want short scale cuz I have small hands/reach. My pinkys curve inward which doesn't help anything either.

Yeah, and this particular peg could probably accommodate 1 full wrap of the big part, but you still need the skinnier part of the string to put in the peg first 'cause there's no way in hell the larger part is gonna fit. Everything about this haphazard redneck-arts-and-crafts guitar juuuuust worked out. If Circle K didn't make the tapered ends of their strings so long I would have just thrown away $40.

My pinkies curve inward too, a friend asked me if I had broken them as a child once. So annoying...my hands are pretty big so most guitar necks already feel cramped to me, and on top of that the curved pinky makes it feel like I have a three and a half finger reach, grr...
I might end up leaving the B/E/A strings alone and tuning the rest so they form an open chord or somethin' like that. Maybe even ditch the top four for lighter strings and keep it divided into the "bass section" and the "hey this is a weird tuning" section.

Got rid of the PITA concentric pots on my VM Jag. On-off switches for super simplicity.
I love it already.
