Hipster is a derogatory term for people that are suppose to be "hip"... meaning they are infact anti-hip... so that defeats the term... Also I play with a guy in his 60's that calls hippies hipsters...

lol, this reminds me of a discussion I've had multiple times about how true hipsters would deny that hipsters really exist(just like indie as a genre) and so someone who calls himself a hipster, like myself, would really be an "indie-kid" maybe?

Obviously there's no definite answers, but it's just fun to throw labels around just for the sake of the occasional

Also, there is an episode of Seinfeld where Elaine calls Kramer a "hipster doofus." Anything that makes me more like Kramer is awesome. Giddy-up!

Well...I've never actually seen it happen in real-life, but just depicted in movies and stuff (sometimes as parody, sometimes just as a characterization) but stil...it bugs me.

lol, comm studies, the most general thing ever(I'm a comm major, also poli sci).

I wish I knew that musicology was a real thing before I started college so I could have chosen to study it.

The two classes I took as electives(History of Rock:1970-present and Music as Discourse) were both awesome and the professors were really funny because they wore Cosby sweaters and were super white snooty-types(but not in a really bad way) but they also listened to music like The Velvet Underground and Arch Enemy.
