i don't like talking shit about people in public..... but yeah. our situation is a tad similar. not near the longevity of badness, but it ended not good. i just got an email saying some prettttttttttty evil and hateful shit.

people like that are so WEIRD. i really don't get how their heads work. it's almost like they can't comprehend someone trying to be their friend and help... JUST to help them. not to play some angle. like that's the only way THEY see people, whether they're sucker/trusting enough to get over one, so of COURSE everybody's like that.

just wrote like 2 new songs (some old parts we never used). didn't realize we had a meh show a week from this Friday. curious if we'll be any good for it. was a lot of fun tonight though.

Heh, I had some friends like that in the past. Years later they come back saying "aw man I fucked up can we still be buttbuddies" and sometimes I say "aw man I love you" and then things are fine until shit blows up again. If/when I'm smart I say "NO FUCK YOU STAY OUT OF MY LIFE" and things always go better. Always.

yah. i'm getting to where i don't care, i'm almost happy shit blew up this early 'cause it was going to happen eventually. sucks when you think someone's your friend and they turn out to be... not. and not near the person you thought they were. all the horrible shit that was said about and to me had me pretty low for a hinute, but i got a pretty good nights sleep last night, a new phone to replace the busted up screen beater i was using, and music was still fun and interesting last night. 'm good now.

So I decided recently I want to start a cover band. Is that weird? Purely covers. I'm thinking seriously about covering stuff like Type O Negative, Stabbing Westward and a few other very influential bands in my life. Mainly Type O though. Kind of a tribute to Peter. His music moved me in a way no others have. Gotta get my chops about me though. Need to practice playing and singing a lot more. Anyone have any tips on this? Playing bass and singing seems almost impossible to me sometimes. I've tried, and tried, but always fuck up. lol

Do you have an acoustic guitar? Strumming one of those and singing helped me sing and play bass. Although, I only sing back-up in my band. There are some songs where the playing is so intensive that I can't do it. Or I have to dumb down my part on a chorus to sing. Now I am getting better and can sing over more complex parts.

IMO...cover bands that do more than just act as a xerox machine (note-for-note repetition, including the EXACT same solo, etc as the original song) for the material are fine. Otherwise, they're just a tribute band with no money for costumes...if that makes sense...

I'm with you on the singing and playing bass. CANNOT. DO. IT. But I'm okay on guitfiddle, and oddly enough, can sing just fine whilst playing drums.

With regards to your feelings on Type O Negative, all I can say is because I feel the same way.

I listened to World Coming Down last night and that album just keeps getting better and better as time passes. The only TON I'm not a huge fan of is the last one, but even that has a lot to love. A few standout songs for me are Burnt Flowers Fallen and Drunk In Paris, I can, have, and will listen to those on repeat over and over and over again. So lovely.

Oh yeah, and Treerapist from the first Evil Dead might be the best thing ever. And at this point I love all three movies about equally, I actually have regular three-way battles to see which one I like best, every time it's TIE GAME, EVERYBODY WINS!
