Deltaphoenix wrote:Man...I am not dying for money immediately but crap, I have 2 basses for sale on TB, and almost zero interest. The 5 string Fender P Bass with John East P Retro seems like it should be a TB darling. I traded my Roland VB-99 and the accessories that I had for it, for the P because I saw how hard it was/is for a few people to sell their VB-99s. I have had one trade offer for the P Bass. I don't want trades, I have a decent price but I haven't put OBO on the ad yet, I would come down.
Then I have a $500 Sterling by MM Ray35 5string, very nice looking HoneyBurst. It is getting views but no comments or PMs yet. It has only been up a few days though.
Man, I know what JWAR has been bitchin about...
At least I am not depending on selling them to pay bills or anything. Maybe after a month, I'll start lowering those prices a bit. I just figured Fender with an East, and a nice low-mid priced bass would get some more action...
A LOT of BST action is still moving very slow, (even my shit). I think it has a lot to do with the fact that there just so much and we are all so ....poor

What sucks is I had to buy a laptop today. I didn't know it was going to be so quick that I needed but some stuff happened.
A dude shot me an offer on the Ray35, it was pretty low, not insultingly low, I countered his offer. I hope he bites on it just to give me some computer money back.

Also,
NERD ALERT!!!!!!!! NERD ALERT!!!!!!!!!
I got a new strap (Rosewood and leather, pretty comfortable) and I have moved my bass significantly higher. No more wearing it down to my knees I guess. I have ended up playing a lot of stuff fairly high on the neck, lots of chords and double stops, this makes it so much easier. I am not wearing up on my chest or anything but it is about 6 inches higher.

Quick question for you guys. I just got a Gallien Krueger 1001rb II and while I love the tone, I'm scared it's going to blow my cab if I use it. My cab is 8ohm (4ohms bi split) and can handle 600 watts, while the 1001rb is 8ohms and can do 700watts. I'm just nervous. I sounds like it can't handle it.
I have a Neo 212 II.
Any suggestions?

Well.....the GK is only 700W at 4ohm.......so I'm wondering if it's only 400W or so at 8ohm. I can't find anything that says what W it gets at 8ohm.
I'm sure you'll be fine, though. SS amps aren't the same from ohm to ohm.

I have been struggling with this very issue as of late. I tweaked my wrist a while back (fretting hand) and I haven
t been aabble to shake it. It'seasier on my wrist with it up higher but hate how it feels on my body and it doesn't feel as good with my picking hand. I should just raise it up for the sake of injury but... Well to be honest I've always liked the look of basses that sit lower.

Man, I thought I was the only one who had that internal battle. I used to wear my bass really low (lower thigh, just above the knee), but when my covers band started doing really complex songs that made me fly around the fretboard, I
had to hike my bass up higher just to be able to play them. But I think it looks so fucking DORKY when bassists wear their basses way up high. So I literally sat there in front of a mirror and adjusted it up and down until I found an acceptable compromise point, where i could still play the song, but it was low enough to still look cool.

Yeah I had to make sure I could still rock in the mirror too!
We just had an extra practice tonight, the bass up higher made a noticable difference on a couple of songs.
WaterPilot I was experiencing some pain in my wrist, the DIngwall's ergonomic benefit helps and wearing the strap higher too.

Guilty as charged

Lately, as I got more into tapping and effects-dancing, I raised it a bit, so it's in a really stable position. It's not too high, but it's ok. It does look a bit nerdy but what the hell, I'm playing, I'm not modelling. (that's what I keep telling myself)

I tend to wear different guitars at different heights.
Les Paul - low
Jazzmaster - mid
Hollow bodies - high
Mostly I wear basses low mid.
