I agree that the Alan Shorter/Bola Sete album is one of the first to check for when you find yourself in an alternate universe record store....

That Bola Sete/Vince Guaraldi record is great though. Pretty sure I posted it early on in this thread.

Though I *know* he's the dude who wrote all those liner notes, etc., whenever I actually see Ralph Gleason (like in that Bola Sete vid) there's a moment of cognitive dissonance when I'm surprised he's not Jackie Gleason.

Edit: speaking of cognitive dissonance, it's mildly weird to realize that Jerry Granelli is playing drums in that video, given that a bunch of my peeps have done his improvisation workshop in Halfax.
