How many fingers are you holding onto the bar when you catch your clean?
Most people find they are maybe a single finger on the bar when catching it but I can usually grab a bit more (this is a FS but you get the idea,

FUCK that looks like it would break my wrists. I don't see heavy cleans in my future...ever. I do appreciate the strength and explosion in the movement though. I'll just have to stick to pussy weight.
5 rep'd 325# deadlifts yesterday and felt pretty good. I'll have to watch the form as I get closer to 350# though as that's when my form really started to go to shit last time around.

It does put stress on your wrists but I find more on my elbow. My right wrist requires rehab overtime to cope, some it from snatch over the cleans tho. Left elbow can act up, I just actually bought some Voodoo Bands for the compression therapy I can apply to my left elbow.
That was an old FS PR at 300# I am now at 305#

225# 3x5 back squats Tuesday, and I've been crippled all week (it's been a while). The kind where it hurts to sit on the shitter.
Good day on deadlifts today.
225x5
335x5
345 PR

Okay 2 week layoff back to OLY yesterday.
yadda yadda but ended with clean pulls. 3 reps a set.
225#, 245#, 265#, 275#, 295#, 315#, and 1 rep at 335#
today my traps and back are sore as fuck.
Did that strap less, as it did not bother my grip.
Clean pull is where you do a clean but do no finish after the bar contacts your hips. It would be a high pull if you broke your arms after the contact (so doing the shrug and the row up). Either way you do not actually follow through after this. Usually doing this kind of thing at 105% of your max clean but in this case today coach said fuck that we are going 110% of your max front squat.

Haven't done anything in two weeks. Lost all motivation to move at all again. I'm either sleeping or at the computer now pottering about aimlessly. I blame my genes. Also me.

I gotta get my big ass in shape. I've gotten back up to 250 lbs. I haven't ran in months and since having wrist surgery I can't do any kind of lifting. I used to do push ups and pull ups but it'll be awhile before I can do those again. I live a block away from the track at the high school but I never go running. I gotta change that shit quick.

250# 5x5 then up to 205# power cleans and then 225# clean and 225# hang clean. Fucking 225# hang clean was brutal.

Back squats I'm assuming. Brutal.
Been a bit since I checked in but I'm still rocking SL 5x5 for the most part - hitting plateaus again. Mountain biking and trying to get back into running. Down to 181 lbs.
Had a good weekend: 14 miles/1300 ft MTB Saturday; 4.5 @ 8:51/mile run Sunday.
Today:
265# 1RM back squat
195# bench
190# rows
120# OHP (can't seem to break this)
325# DLs (345# 1RM)

yea BS. I have not done a FS 5x5 in a bit. I have been trying to improve my max BS for a while since my FS/BS ratio is >90%. The average oly lifter FS is like 85% of his/her 1RM BS (high bar, atg) and since mine is much closer I figured I need to develop that bit more. (just a bit of thoughts behind my approach)
Did you go max effort on 2 lifts? That is nice!
I hit 205# on rows in OLY for a set of 4.
