No strong impression of whether this is exciting or meh, but it's there.
By running it into the lo-fi bank of an Empress Reverb, I was able to find some desirable textures. It definitely performed differently than other fuzzes I compared it to (Way Huge Conquistador, Basic Audio Marq Won, Zvex Mastotron). At $200, it's not something I'd endorse, but at $80, I'm pleased to reacquire it.

I grabbed that Superfuzz (bosstone) you posted. My wallet says, "thanks :grumpy: " for that

...those Supro fuzzes are gone already. Gator Pedalboard with case for $100 now

That's cool. I've always wanted to try one of those.

Now that MF has offered the Fuzz as the deal of the day, I hope that means the Drive pedal could be one of their future deals. I got to demo one against a Ryra Klone (which sounded quite nice), but the Supro Drive had a lot more available sounds. I don't remember the chain, but I got a killer pairing using it. Possibly Epi Pro with P90s into Fairfield Four Eyes/Surprise into Supro Drive? It would've been a great pairing for bass, too.

Supro Boost for $80 is the deal of the day. I hope that means the Tremolo or Drive will be available this week, too. I'll have a mini Supro board.

I have so many tremolos, but I still want to A/B a Catalinbread Valcoder with the Supro model. Can't help it. :idk:

I have...no tremolos (other than amp) at this point  wtf? Hell, maybe I do need to bite! I'd be interested to hear your findings, should the time come.

Don't rub it in! I'm in the process of building a hard maple tele with an EGC neck. It weighs like 10 pounds before finishing, shielding, wiring, or adding pickups, a pickguard, or a control plate. I think it's going to look and sound great, but goddamn, these things aren't light. I went with maple largely to avoid neck dive, but hopefully it's worth it.

Will do.

It certainly feels that way----the same goes for phasers/reverbs/delays.

Dandolin wrote: Chankgeez and Dubkitty got you Jero. I feel like the volume pedal is nice because of it's obvious well known use (especially with pedal steel), but there are a whole host of classic lap steel lines/tones that don't use it. One of the great things about lap steel is that the metal bar combined with inherently high action gives great attack/cut and sustain. Unless I'm fighting a poorly set-up lappy, I usually don't find myself pining for more sustain. A compressor, imo, also enhances the taper of volume pedals for getting the attack cut off in the sweet spot. If you can find a used one for cheap, the Sonuus Voluum has a great sounding optical compressor that can be run in conjunction with boost and integrated volume pedal (and a pretty damn flexi trem) for one stop shopping.... :snax:

Oh, and lappies sound freaking awesome with fuzzzzz :doom:
I meant to respond to this before.

I just usually use the volume knob on the steel to control the volume situation and/or for swells/effect.

Compressor is good for bringin' out the nice harmonics.

Also, in case anyone's still lookin', here's some more lap steels:
