lol. right? i don't really dig on televised sports. lost my decade long interest in the NBA when they went on strike because they weren't getting millions enough the same time i had friends losing their house over the economy crashing. spoiled fuckers.
yeah. thing is. i would have watched the HELL out of the same movie, no Clovey Goodness. i actually..... don't like the first Cloverfield. it's...... a'ight? a super average monster flick, shakey cam annoys the butts off of me.
but hopefully this one is as sexy as Carpet Free Down-Underverse?

I honestly wish it wasn't directly connected and it was just a spooky sci fi anthology series. The last one didn't necessarily seem connected to me (giant monster/alien invasion seemed unrelated) but the trailer for this one says its related to the story of the first one.
The hype and mystery of the first one is what pulled me in. The movie itself was alright, but the hype was the real star

Yeah. The first 30-45 minutes were genuinely enjoyable. I was thinking Event Horizon lite. But as soon as they pulled the gyro out of that guy's chest the whole tone of the movie changed.
Chris O'Dowd was pretty good in it though. And the whole bit with the arm was pretty funny. But I was hoping for more horror. The lady in the wall was promising.
God and that stupid "tie in" at the very end. I'm just glad I didn't pay 12 bucks to watch it or something

just watched three seasons of The Strain because I'm on some stupid horror kick for some reason... I kind of like some of the more "original" or out there rules the universe plays by, but uh.... If Eichorst can freely walk around the damn ferry, then why is "vampire and running water" made out to be such a big deal? It's not even that big of a plot hole, but it sucked me in like a dying star.

There aren't many shows that do so much narrative work--there is absolutely no formula, no way of knowing what will happen. The characters are great, the settings are bizarre...it's one of my favorites.
Also: The Chronicles of Shannara is one of the worst shows I will watch every episode of.

I grew up reading the Shannara books so.... I will shamelessly love every episode out of nostalgia

Same.
I just binged all of season 2 in one day.

Somehow Shannara and The 100 ended up being those shows that you never want to watch, but the second you start you can't turn away.
Also, a Futile and Stupid Gesture was okay.
It was a nice easter egg having Joel Mchale play Chevy Chase.

It was fine, I enjoyed it. I'm not sure how much I would have been into watching it if I hadn't been on my couch on a Sunday afternoon, killing time. That being said, the funeral scene at the end made me cry while holding my sleeping baby son.

I think we survived The 100 for a couple seasons. I just couldn't do it anymore after that. The first season was all good fun--teen soap + dystopian radioactive Earth. They lost me at the AI thing/part.

Yeah that wasn't good at all. The only part I really liked were the arm parts. I was definitely hoping for less of a generic space action movie

so shit. and anybody writing about how the Mulitverse Higgs Boson Mangling explains EVERYTHING FROM EVERY CLOVERFIELD MOVIE can eat a dick. a whole BOWL of dicks.
yes that's a cool idea. have movies ALMOST related then have an overarching thinger like that to tie it together. IF THEY WERE WELL WRITTEN MOVIES WITH THE DEPTH TO JUSTIFY THAT.
for these it's a Dallas It Was All A Dream level copout.
also, should NOT have re-read Altered Carbon whilst watching the series. makes me ANGRY at it. harumph.

At the series?
Are there multiple books? Cause it seems like they're going to leave it open for a second season. But everything has to be a universe now
