do you use rusty as a preamp into a poweramp? how does it react when you push it with the gain from the rat? does the rat lose low end or did you mod it?
sry for all the questions :D

Questions are fine! Wouldn't've posted it otherwise!

Currently using the rusty just as a pedal. Running into a borrowed Peavey MKIII at the moment (cuz my sunn, ampeg and acoustic are all in various degrees of not working  ), which is very loud and very, very clean, so the rusty box is doing the job of the gain I'd normally get out of an amp. If I was using say my acoustic 120, I probably wouldn't have it switched on. Finding it kinda useful just as an EQ though.

The rat isn't modded as far as I know but it does have the LM308 chip in it. I think it was one of the last ones to be made with it? That could be crap, I dunno. It actually has a surprising amount of bass though, I use it in another setup too with an aluminium guitar with p90s into a marshall and the rat is the thing that kind of tames all of that haha. In to the rust box it's instant Jesus Lizard/Young Widows. I actually pull the gain back on the rat a little and then also use the pedal next to it, which is another gain/tone boost, just because I like the extra bit of balls it adds.

But yeah, the big bottom pedal is like a blendable effects loop with a crossover, which mixes a clean signal with a low pass filter on it with the effected signal. That's why I'm happy to run chorus and reverb in there as well now, because low end isn't going to be cut out. In fact it gets boosted but I still retain all the crunch of the distorted sound too. I really can't recommend those big bottom pedals highly enough to bassists.

Nah. Probably should have something a little thicker for the E string, but it's working out to be pretty okay with minimal flop. It's by far my favorite tuning. It sounds like a bass and guitar at the same time to me
