The Wing Pinger from Meng Qi is scheduled to be shown at Superbooth. (no price yet)

Wing Pinger is an analog musical instrument, centered around a pair of 4-pole resonate low pass filters.
Surrounded by a network of comparators, pulse converters, binary counters and shift registers.
Despite the absence of oscillators, it's fully capable, and actually designed to generate sound on its own.

Process stereo or dual mono signals through great sounding filters, add spice to the tone, generate movements with special Wing Pinger modulations.

(the grumbling from 4:25 on is my favorite part of this demo)

Maybe my hearing is shot (really could be the case), but I don't find the carrier signal/degradation pleasant at all.

WIth Superbooth kicking off on Thursday, more stuff is starting to leak. It's looking like Superbooth could feature more synth-releated releases than this year's Winter NAMM & Musikmesse combined. Last year, I think Messe & Superbooth were fairly competitive in terms of builder visibility and new launches, but this year Messe came & went with little to report.

The Summit (a poly Peak) leaked today in a German magazine.

Ahead of Superbooth 2019, the French company Finegear has announced Arkive_Effects, a new analog multi-FX unit. It features 2 voltage controlled LFOs, 2 tape saturation units, a spring reverb, a delay, and a phaser. This new analog effect box is designed to experiment with effects.

So it is possible to modulate the effects individually with CV signals or just send another effect in the delay feedback loop.
