so.... a bit off topic and silly mebbe, but.... i have two 32 inch LG monitors, same model, on my music/computer desk. they tilt a bit away from each other so there's a tiny gap between them.

was thinking about using some tape on the back to make them lean into each other. make those sexy ONE LONG ASS MONITOR lines.... but that seems a bit jankety ghetto.

any other suggestions?

bloop ah moop?

I guess I'm doing this thing now.

I've been wanting something percussive to play guitar with. I got a model:cycles but didn't like the menus, I'd rather get hands-on with knobs and wires. Someone offered to put together a starter euro setup and I jumped.

I don't know what's going on.

Are eurorack drum machines a thing?

Oh yes they are! :) Maybe look up some videos on youtuvellbe about modular drums to better understand what you need. They are drums voice modules like Blck_Noir or akemi's taiko, samplers like the erica sample drums, rossum assimil8or, sequencers like erica drum sequencer or the Nerdseq. These are only a few suggestions, there are so many. You can go with a clock and some clock div/mult instead of a sequencer. You can also do cool variations with mutes and switches...

I, for example, plan on doing most of my drums with Nerdseq+more trigger expander and Endorphin.es Blck_noir.

Congrats on the new setup! :thumb:

RE: EURO DRUM MACHINES.

I would recommend a Pamela's NEW Workout and a couple (or three... or four... etc.) dedicated drum modules to start. That gets you off the ground really fast and will reveal some limitations. Whatever limitations you find with that set-up can (should) be smashed by the addition of further modules. Rinse and repeat until you are fully drum machining on your eurorack.

so this thing seems like a pretty nice midi to cv solution for the price and size ("zero" hp :p )

(might also be nice as another kind of drum machine friend)

should have it at mines Wednesday or Thursday.

enough room up top for the mixer and a 1u blank for channel labeling, right now just a power supply, patchbay, blanks for labeling, and a rack shelf to hold patch cables on the front. room to add something if i want later.

Holy shit, I've just received my FSS TG5 euro guitar preamp and it slays. I might even want so sell my Hilbish preamp. Only drawback would be for jams amd stuff I'd have to ajdust the gain without having a footswitch to jump between 2 channels (like the Hilbish) but I guess I could figure something out with a constant cv going into the gain cv and a mute module. :idk:

I have to work but can't wait to try it with bass and euro signals like drums or melodic stuff. It really goes from clean to mental fuzz :joy

Btw I sent it through a quilter interblock fx return and into my hiwatt 4x12 :omg: Can't even imagine through a tube poweramp like a mcintosh or something

part of me WANTS to hook up loots to a giant set of speakers (i still have like 4 1x12 and a 2x12 Aguilat bass cabs in storage) and just BOOM some modular/synth loot.

but.

i'm old now.

i never even turn my monitors all the way up.

thinking about grabbing a sub for my studio setup though.

also, Black Sequencer on the way.

i think Metron with some drum modules and Seq'ies with some oscs should be a fun, tiny system?
