Re: The Video Game thread
So I managed to score a PS5 and Elden Ring. Both are way, way too good. I am obsessed.

I beat Elden Ring 1.5 times. Then I played and beat Returnal. Then I played and beat Stray.
All of which were absolutely amazing in totally different ways

Re: The Video Game thread
mein gott the Steam Deck is amazing. got sucked in Gunfire Reborn (nothing amazing, but a fun cell shaded FPS with a lot of different characters to play as and a ton to unlock), diddled some other bits, going through the first Borderlands again. love that series so much. probably going to pause and play through Stray in a day or two though.
anybody play Tunic? thoughts?

Re: The Video Game thread
Bringing another thread back from the dead, hoping to activate this place, until I leave, comeback later and realise I'm not that active myself :P
Anyways, not played a lot of video games lately but am at the end with a co-op campaing of Divinity Originial Sin 2. At least we think we are. We play very slowly, but at least think there should be less than 10hrs left now. That said, the game has surprised us before. Btw, what a game! Sooooo goood! Especially love the writing!

Re: The Video Game thread
Cool! I grabbed that in a sale a while back and I'm really looking forward to playing it. Currently FINALLY playing Pillars of Eternity. I played a bit when it came out but that was right around when I realised I just couldn't play anything with mouse & keyboard anymore so gave up. Borrowed a steam controller from a friend maybe 4-5 years ago and finally plugged it in to test a few weeks ago, it's pretty manageable and since then been hooked on the game!
I'm also around 200 hours deep into Valheim with my girlfriend. Great fun

Beautiful and addictive game. Completed once as a Fane, and twice started and gave up in Arx as a LizardPanicProne wrote:Anyways, not played a lot of video games lately but am at the end with a co-op campaing of Divinity Originial Sin 2. Wow, really? Why give up so late (don't answer that with a spoiler!)? We're in Arx right now and we both have Lizard character each, my friend plays The Red Prince and mine is called, erm, Jesus!Monarch wrote:Beautiful and addictive game. Re: The Video Game thread
Snagged Cult of the Lamb and World of Horror on my switch recently.
Cult of the Lamb: Super fun! Like hack n slash Zelda meets fuckin Animal Crossing. Except where Animal Crossing used to leave me feeling overworked micromanaging, COTL lets me work that out by going on crusades and slaying heretics. Good times, not much to say other than play it!
World of Horror: I'm a huge Junji Ito fan, but also am a huge bitchpudding when it comes to horror games. This seemed like if I could handle Ito's work then I would be fine, and I was right! Most of the game is essentially just a good read with really good art and music. Plays out like an old school point and click thang with a lot of depth. Its super easy to breeze through playthroughs and rewards repeating story lines just to try other options you didn't pick the first time. I thought I would hate the doom mechanic because I've never been a fan of a ticking clock, but it ended up adding a lot to the game and forced me to use my brain more when it came down to managing my inventory and stat distribution. I will say its a little hard to read the U.I. at first. It took me a minute to figure out where the funds were displayed, but once you get it its like riding a bike. Highly recommend if your looking for something unique out of a horror game.
Yee, more good stuff to push in between my Gungeon runs.

Re: The Video Game thread
can i recommend PARANORMASIGHT as another story/music/atmosphere-heavy horror game? it does something seconds after putting in your name that made me think "oh this game is WEIRD" and it does that again and again every few long-beats. really cool vibey j-horror game. most of the characters are adults! it's set in the late 90s! it's almost the anti-persona5 in that way. i haven't finished it but am enjoying it a LOT.BitchPudding wrote: World of Horror

Games are like a mini escape that helps you recharge and take your mind off things. I find that immersing myself in a game helps clear my head, making it easier to tackle whatever comes next.
Speaking of relaxing, my favorite game is Apex Legends, and I play it daily with my friends. It’s so much more fun when you have a group to strategize with, and I’ve found that using some cheats can make the game even more interesting and enjoyable. If you’re looking for ways to spice up your gaming, you might want to check out StealthCore for some helpful tools.

Re: The Video Game thread
Just finished Signalis... as someone who grew up with Resident Evil & Silent Hill which it was touted to emulate and likes all manner of Sci-fi, I did not care for it nor fear it.
As a game made by just two people, a really impressive accomplishment with a couple of really cool ideas but I can't say I had fun or bonded with the excessively esoteric story at all
