Cool, that absolutely sounds like a good idea. I was a bit daunted by the prospect of building an Ornament and Crime, but I'll test building an oscillator or something first. Cheers!! The doboz looks very good indeed

Ordered a Behringer 914 Fixed Filter Bank on sale - I've wanted a Serge Resonant EQ and Behringer's business practices aren't exactly improving but the Serges aren't available anywhere except for a place in Germany for $500 and this was $85.
Trying to think in terms of building a Forbidden Planet/BBC Radiophonic rack. Hainbach has a video about his test equipment-esque Eurorack but it's full of unobtainable Cwejman and stuff. The Cwejman modules alone now would buy a decent used Honda.
Once I sell a couple of things I want to load up on utilities and stuff to bring in outside sounds - a XAOC Sewastopol, a Mutable Blinds, a couple of cheap mults, probably a couple of other attenuverter/VCA things.

ResEQ is on my curious list. Basically I want something smaller and/or cheaper than the ADDAC filter bank. CV control is the whole point for me, but I don't need all the extra whistles.

oh snap didn't realise behringer made the fixed filter bank. Too giant for my setup, don't love behringer but it's kinda cool to see some cheaper stuff in that space.

While I'm looking at pieces to add I bounce between "oh that's cool" and thinking about selling what I have because the cost of Eurorack offends my sensibilities.
Modules is w/e, but I love the design language they are using.

Yeah I've got no strong interest in using it as a module but that is gorgeous.

Since it looks like the modular world hasn't yet come to the Shark Tank, I'll ask this here....
Any builders/DIYers here interested in building a ResEQ? Maybe doing a run of them for the forum?

The Serge ResEQ has such a great quality to it's self-feedback - one of the grindiest sounds I've heard in my rack - that's where its strength lies imo - others may be better for the morphing spectral clouds thing tho. If I ever get around to finding someone to build/mod the Doepfer all-freqs-out add-on to the A-128, I think that one could be super special for not too much outlay....

Oh I'm dumb and entirely forgot about the A-128. Earlier faint praise for behringer rescinded.
I'm also tentatively interested in anything people figure out for a resEQ or similar project... Have zero space but would love to try one out. Hadn't heard of that doepfer mod, but presumably you've still got to patch feedback and boost it to really get it sounding interesting, as it's just subtractive and non resonant?

yah - you need to patch feedback w/A-128 - but with that, and the ability to take all 15 of those separate band outs and morph/pan/switchenate between them (or further process them individually or in subsets) and whathaveyou, it should be purty dang innersestin' overall
Oh yeah that EMW looks great. Finding out now about all these cool options lol but to get anything bigger than my FXDF would mean some serious thought about what to replace....

like. i have so much WANT to go fuck around with odd trigger sources into the Live spectral resonanter, but i know i'll noodle for at least two hours. and i have to get up for work in about six and a half hours, after i lay down in bed it takes me at least an hour to get unconscious. so. tomorrow? i hope?
also, Yamaha Reface CP sounds so damn GOOD into MicroCosm and Data Bender.
