I'm genuinely concerned about whether or not I'll be able to finish my back piece. NY just passed a law preventing tattoo artists from using any ink not in the ink shots. Most major brands do not sell the ink shots because they are just added costs and wasteful. The only brands with the ink shots are lower quality ink brands. Law goes into effect in January, and I still have another 15-25 hours of shading to go.

Cool. Was there any unique/specific technique used here? I know nothing about tattoos, but remember reading about Kenji Alucky who uses a stippling/dotwork technique and this looks really similar, and it's one of the few types of tattoo that I'd consider getting.

Yeah a lot of dotwork. He uses dif needles for the dark black, the thin lines, and the dots.

looks fukcin awesome man...if I didnt have so much hair i would do black ink tats too...
one question on the dotwork...does it hurt more or less than lines?

Yeah I shave my arms for this reason.
Hurts much less for me. Since they're so quick against your skin and the rotors aren't working as hard.
