The hits a keep rollin

I made my earlier comment in reference to the fact that we work so hard on reducing other forums/builders/viewpoints to simple caricatures that we run the risk of becoming one ourselves.
I know some people must be rolling their eyes at this point but it's something to keep in mind.

It seems silly me to maintain a peaceful environment by actively policing ILF, weeding out dissenting viewpoints/avoiding disagreement. That's more dystopian in my opinion.

That being said, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask that we avoid personal attacks...please?

If any of you still in college don't think that your living in a bubble, it just further proves my point. I wasn't trying to be mean and if some of you took it that way, I'm sorry. But life in college has nothing to do with life outside of college. Just reality. Everybody has life experiences everywhere, including college. But once your done, there's no more going to the cafeteria for lunch every day on the weekly lunch plan (and surely you guys can extrapolate from that phrase what I'm talking about).

Uh, sometimes the college you went to and what you majored/minored in matter. Keyword, sometimes. ;)

It's possible to critique someone with telling them their playing is shit, you can point out what you feel they could have done better. That was my only beef with you. :idk:

Fuck this thread. Die please.

Don't put words in my mouth or my posts. I never said that his playing was "shit." I said that it "sucked," relating to the "tone" that he was trying to show everybody. I thought it was pretty obvious that in order to put something up in front of everyone and claim it to be perfect, one should, at the very minimum, be able to not sound very amateurish when playing.

Now that we know the whole post from the troll was just to bate others from HCFX, perhaps his playing is much better than what he posted over there. I don't know. But I stick by my original assessment (as I wrote responding to you a few posts back), given that I've heard nothing different.

Oh jeez, sorry. I didn't mean to.

But when did he say it was perfect? He said he liked it...

"I've discovered the greatest tone known to man..."
Perfection could be assumed in dubbing it the greatest.

That sorta doomed the thread from the start...

Yeah, my bad. He didn't use the word "perfect."

Here's what he posted:

Fuck yes.

Yeah, he didn't call it perfect - he called it "the greatest tone know to man..."

Just a tad bit more that your version of "he liked it" don't you think?!?! :wha?:

And just as an edit...

I completely forgot about this:

Yeah, College is a strange bubble. So far mine's been full of people almost getting stabbed, an attempted shooting at a local bar, and a student killing a burglar with a samurai sword. :erm:

But yeah, you lose track of what's happening outside in the world. I need to read some BBC soon, though Archaeology midterm comes first.

Eh I don't agree with it totally. I just think its funny to think of people that way. As you probably know coming out of the high school bubble is a big difference as well. I'm also coming out of a "relationship bubble." Thinking of my life that way is uncomfortable and stressful.

Oh and for the people who think we're fake being nice and kum-by-ya to each other hasn't dealt in the buy sell trade. We're fucking awesome.

That is what you get for going to school in the hood.
Hopkins I presume.

Okay, he may have said he had the greatest tone known to man. But you criticized his playing. :poke:
