Yep. And those joystick pedals were a fucking pain in the ass to build. The joystick itself was anywhere from $12-29 and the wiring took a long time. You can call them overpriced all you want, but it doesn't make it true.
And I guess that is the point of this whole thread. Unless you know the costs and profit margins of a particular builder, you really can't say what they should be charging. I think that Chase Bliss pricing is spot on for what it is. Does that mean I go out and buy them at full price? Of course not. I don't have that kind of money. lol. But that new pedal has 4 bbd chips in it and those fuckers are crazy expensive. His profit margins allow him to spend money on advertising, promotional travel, very expensive Knobs demos, and expensive R&D, all of which are really important to this business. His technical skills are such that he should be making good money. If not, why would he stay in this industry?
You guys seem to want your cake and you want to eat it too. Can't have it both ways, my friends.

For the record, I think Dwarfcraft has some of the most competitive prices on the market for what you offer.
There's lots of builders here that I would say offer a great product for a great price.
However, there are some who seem to rehash the same stuff over and over again and charge insane amounts.
One thing I will say about the Toneczar I have. Regardless of how much I love the pedals, the price point is literally insane, especially on the used market. The mark up is hype plus wait time frustrations. They are a bit of an anomaly in the market though but it's a good example of insane pricing.

Since we're talking about Devi, can someone please tell me more about her Internet history? I posted in the Confession Thread too.

Made some really awesome for their time and pioneering pedals. Was the target of insane transphobia before being trans became cool and relatively more accepted. Was an asshole to a lot of people. Burned a lot of bridges. Fin.

I get it. It's still $300. I don't necessarily agree its overpriced, but I get it. They still offered a lot more sound and experimentation at the time than a Skreddy or Zvex (debatable opinion, but zvex had like one fuzz that was regularly available) for far less money. Also much cheaper than DBA who were building around that time as well. When she was making those pedals there wasn't many other builders who offered weird gated/weird/oscillating/noisy pedals.

Do you have a couple of hours?

Long story short, she had a strong tendency to starting drama on internet forums and later social media. Deep down she has that edgelord quality to just be abrasive for the sake of pissing people off. Its gotten in the way many times and overtime burned almost all bridges, including our friendship. She shows regret and remorse and apologizes, she definitely seems aware of her destructive behavior. However, History has shown me not to put much faith in her endeavors as I personally cannot be sure if she can be trusted to remain stable.
All the while she has made great mistakes starting with The Workhorse pedal, The Console, etc. I am trying to be as neutral as possible here but... I was a huge fan and friend of hers and she really let me down as well as everyone on this forum. Currently she posts on her facebook company page quite a bit about her past mistakes and where she is at now. You could probably find some posts regarding her history there.

In fariness, and looking back, it's hard to overestimate how hard it must have been to be trans 20 or so years ago, though.

Thanks for all the information Sir!!!
Since we're talking about Joy Sticks...the oscillating fuzz that came in the mail this week (instead of the memo) had a joystick...
...I've gone back in time!!!

Probably the last time the F4 franchise was anywhere close to sniffing the success of the X-Men franchise

No one here has ever underestimated her struggles, at least that I have seen. But while personal struggles can explain a lot of behavior, they don't excuse it. She said and did some terrible stuff and there have been a ton of people around here who forgave her once, then twice, then three times or more. At a certain point, it is just untenable.

My face is forever red after buying into her "innocently buy back her pedal company" when she pitched it to me over the phone and the brief support I showed on here only to have her sling out racial and homophobic slurs at everyone.

If you're saying I should literally "draw inspiration" for my avatar, well... the blank nothingness that's currently there is pretty damn perfect from my perspective. I'm closer to X-pired than inspired.
