You’re spending a ton of money on pickups yet you’re not even getting handwounds. What you’re buying isn’t much better than the stock pickups that came in your Guitar. Yes Duncan did do scatterwound at some point but the majority of the production now are machine wound. Are you just comfortable going with what you know and not venturing out? There are so many great scatterwound pickup makers, you’ve already gone deep into the boutique pedal world, why not go deep into the pickup world and make a bigger difference on your Guitar tone? And yes I am saying scatter wound is better than machine would and I don’t think that’s arguable haha.

From Duncan's website:
"As with all of our P.A.F. style humbuckers, every Pearly Gates is wound on Seymours original Leesona winding machine from the early Gibson factory in Kalamazoo."

Let the record show I have owned ONE tube amp in my life (I still have it) and it has 3 12AX7 preamp tubes (not 12XA7).

Quite honestly, I would much prefer one of those older shitty solid state Peavey practice amps. I would have served my purposes wonderfully and probably would have been 1/5th of the price.

By the way, 12AX7...developed in NJ! Woo hooo! In Camden
12xa7. D'oh!

Oh man I had a peavey backstage 30 in high school. it was great.

You're just, you know, not nearly as gear-savvy as you think you are, and that's kind of obvious from your posts about gear.
No I just do t have the time to make 27,000 posts about gear like you. I can crush you in gear knowledge, you don’t know me at all... you’re basing this off me asking about boost pedal recommendations because I never had to use one, and the fact that multiple people in that thread suggested multiple different things on placement, you’re really bitter over that huh. I’ve only posted on here for suggestions and this is the first time I’ve actually sat through a thread, it’s easier to ask then read through a zillion nonsense posts till I find what I’m looking for to be honest.
No I am basing this off of your posts in this thread. Which are bad. They are bad takes. They contain little of anything that could even be misconstrued as merit.

And you criticize my opinion on analog vs digital pedals together towards people who have spent money on conserving their tone? Or you want to debate that there is no difference in sound between scatterwound and machine wound? If so you clearly wouldn’t be mouthing your opinion at all on the subject if you truely can’t hear a difference

I just don't understand how the first mention of fingers is in relation to buttholes.

Biggest LOL of the thread so far, along with Dungus' post previously lauded by lost in music, which basically sums up my entire guitar philosophy.

This one is a lot more fun than BossMan's threads. :snax:

Read what I wrote. Are you saying the majority of SD pickups aren't PAF style? Isn't that what you tone junkies are after anyway? Can you hear a difference in batteries in your fuzz pedals too?
