I won't say i have ZERO problems with ripping off ideas. We've had that conversation on here before. EHX is doing well enough, and has changed the designs of their pedals enough times over the course of decades, cloning one of their pedals doesn't feel like that big of a deal. Enough people have made enough money off of muff circuits that Behringer doing a DMM circuit feels like whatever.
That awful derail aside, what OTHER synths is Behringer going to make? I want to see what they do with wavetables and comb filters and sampling and digital-analog hybrid synthesis techniques and oh god fucking nuts. Digital Distortion plus analog wavefolding/cross modulation on combination analog and digital oscillators with multiple different filters that can be routed how the user sees fit.

once again behringer designs something with their classic "we're smart but not at all visual" aesthetic

Yeah. I hate the tendency among new synthesizers to be so mind-numbingly monochromatic. The old Rolands were fucking colorful. Synths used to be reds and blues and mish-moshes of primary colors and multiple grayscale tones. Why back away from that? Even the Arp Odyssey in your avatar had so man different color sliders.

Marketing for DJs/producers who wear black parkas zipped all the way up, i.e. all of them.

Thing sounds dope af though, and also beyond intrigued by something cool coming from Behringer, yet retaining the Behringer-y price point.

Yeah, I'm not sure how many people would pay in the $1500 for this with the Behringer name. Behringer - as far as I know - is the name associated with good clones of other gear that people can't afford or don't want to pay the price for the real deal and get the behringer product hoping it will last. I'm basing that partly on my experience with the PA amps that are clones of QSC or whatever.
This is a whole different ball park here. But I imagine behringer's strategy is that they can offer and very powerful and good sounding synth at a very competitive market price. I guess my $500 question might be a little low.

500 would be great. Much more beyond that and it'd lose me.

$500 would be utterly absurd, as they announce more of the details and specs, i'm going to go ahead and say it's more than 3 times the synth that the Minilogue is - beyond just the number of voices - on paper, insofar as anyone can quantize such things (you really can't, except in circumstances like the JX-8P vs the JX-10, which is literally two JX-8Ps in one chassis).
That is to say, it's going to be expensive, for a Behringer synth.

Given that they released a keyboard controller that looks about half as nice as this synth for about $400, I REALLY doubt it'll cost less that $1000. My final guess is $1200 with a $900 module version. I'd also bet that it's not going to drop until after the next NAMM.

Yeah, I'd guess the same as far as timeline goes.
I won't be a choad and just flat-out refuse to pay more for Behringer gear, rather just won't be an early-adopter. If these things are built well and the functionality is all there, I'm psyched.

Yep, I am not early adopter for almost anyone's new tech.
I let someone else's ear lie bleeding on the floor first!

point of order: what exactly is 'getting fucked on'?
All I can imagine is 'playing the mattress,'* if you like.
*or whatever surface

Maybe Behringer is fucking on the corpses of their competitors (being how market breaking this could be)
