A lot of music scenes are shitty because they're all about the "safe spaces" and what not except "normies" aren't allowed. One time at a show a kid I know was told by another guy I know "YOU DON'T GO TO SHOWS"...

and most of the people are there just to be seen smoking cigarettes outside and don't care about the music at all, but what else is new really

Fun opinion: despite daseb's inevitable old-man-with-fists-balled-up-and-shaking-at-the-sky rants to the contrary, I believe it's counterintuitive to discuss trans punk without even mentioning Against Me!

But I digress.

All the tweets I've seen from the GLOSS gals (just the ones linked in here) seem fairly laidback, like "eh, fuck you too," it doesn't seem like they called for a witchhunt or anything. Label didn't approve of the Whirr tweets and/or didn't wanna deal with it, dropped what is apparently a shitty band anyway. Seems pretty simple to me. Neither of the actual bands seems to be bringing up any dumb SJW vs Free Speech Don't Be a Pussy dichotomy, why are we? Again, though, this is just my impression from the tweets linked in here, Idunno if more has happened, never even heard either band (maybe Whirr? Once?), I'm just killin time.

It kind of sucks that being a complete centrist about these issues automatically makes you a SWJ in someone's eyes, when just being non-judgmental in regards to other people's life shit is all anyone really needs. At the end of the day, Whirr have always been social media twits and controversy for controversy sake is just plain bad business.

I just listened to a Gloss song because I've never heard of either of these bands. That shit was heavy and hardcore sounding! I dig it!!

Fuck Whirr for many reasons.

But having had people in real life compare me to Buffalo Bill? that would be a "break your fucking nose" worthy offense if the limp dick pussies in Whirr had the balls to say that to anyone's face.

nick bassett bought my old super twin reverb. the whole band came with him to pick it up. he played it for maybe 10 seconds on the quietest setting and gave me money. lol.

im friends with their old singer, who currently is the mastermind behind the sick band King Woman. they toured with my band a couple times. she made a statement on fb about the latest Whirr shit.

im just surprised to see a Whirr thread here.

I don't remember her name at the moment, but that girl was the best part about Whirl anyway.

Yup, that Distressor EP was amazing and got listened to loads by myself. Added them on Facebook and was pretty amazed how fucking idiotic they came across. Haven't been arsed checking out much since that disappointing Pipe Dreams album.
