True. It takes a reliable amp to even notice the values drifting or sound changes due the oxidation. They last for decades with minimal care and with proper fixing they only get better over time. I've got one as old as I am. One that I'm not prepared to part with, even though I haven't used it lately (for like seven years).

Hey, what's that on the other table?
Oh, yeah, it's a fucking tube amp.

In a rescued Ampeg chassy for the time being. We'll have to spray paint it pink or something. Then when it's all ready we'll get our own chassy and cab.
BONUS: this ampeg was a combo, I guess, so I get to have the cab and put my spare 12" in for more extra cabtonez.

If you spray paint it pink, I'll buy the fuck out of it once you're finished with it.

Well, voltages are good, the amp was fired up once (without tubes) and everything was good, a second time we blew a cap (right after I called devi in a fit of joy) but that was sorted. It was then tubed and tested quickly with a signal generator (which I missed) Apparently there is a real bad hum right now, but Derrick knows how to fix it.
I would guess the prototype will be done by the end of the month, and we plan on an official launch of 2 AMPS [Love Buzz and a very simplified clean version (Soap box?)] in april.
