I live in australia so it'll be 2017 before it filters over here. Enough time for me to get in on the ground floor!
The Drones have been doing it for a while.
Well, they used to. Miller's Daughter is wonderfully noisy.

yeah but I'm talking about repackaging it and selling it to hardcore kids! They'll believe anything from the 90s was actually good!
Also I find the Drones are boring as hell but one time my band played this big interstate festival with them and we were all waiting at oversize baggage to get our guitars after the flight back. Some jerkoff sent their dog through oversize (rather than jetpets like a decent fucking human being) and it was just sitting there in its' crate waiting with all the surfboards and prams and drum hardware and stuff. Main Drones dude was making sure the dog was okay and was obviously kind of pissed off that someone would be so inconsiderate to their little buddy like that. So his band bore me to tears and anyone that puts a telecaster pickup in a jaguar clearly votes for the terrorists, but hey, he likes dogs so he's alright by me.

Failure
Marriages
Vennart
ASIWYFA was good
Godspeed was good
have super high hopes for The Dear Hunter, because THAT BAND...
Looking forward to new Sunn O)))
everyone is raving about Lore, found it pretty boring

Goatsnake is good, but feels a bit dad-rocky at times. Mutoid Man is

High on Fire feels pretty... standard? WHich is not necessarily a compliment

I used to like the dear hunter. I can't even listen to them now. Not sure what happened. My tastes changed i guess.

Was never too into them or the whole "prog emo" scene
But I was pretty into the Forgive Durden album
Razia's Shadow and Casey was involved in that quite a bit

I like Act III and sections of The Color Spectrum a lot. Didn't super care for Migrant, but if he's comfortable branding the new album as Act IV, then they have my interest.
I had the last tREoS album, at one point, but didn't really listen to it. Need to revisit that.

Well TDH changed a lot, too. As my taste changed, it definitely went a different path than they/he went after Act III. I'm definitely excited to hear Act IV but im not sure if my taste, or Casey's writing, will swing back enough to where we both were a few years ago. & the new song doesnt seem to tell me much because I always think of them as an album band.
EDIT: ok on acond listen in pretty into it. All the throwbacks to the older material is awesome.
I would embed this but getting a full youtube address on my phone is near impossible.

What the fuck is emo-prog
anyway...
Migrant is a bit in the left field, paradoxically, because it's a pretty normal rock record

It's sort of a break from the whole conceptual thing, isn't it... Anyway... big fan of the rest of the discography, mainly
The Color Spectrum as a whole and
Act II (amazing production)
PS:
The Color Spectrum is sort of the next
Alchemy Index by Thrice to me... Which I consider one of my favourite albums of all time
PPS: never heard The Receiving End of Sirens

Something we're all better of pretending never happened.
(and I'm not sure actually happened outside of those half page articles in the front pages of guitar magazines).
