This short scale Hondo has been my main instrument (aside from my acoustic) for several months now.
Neck feels real nice and the pick-up is microphonic and bassy as fuck.
When it get warmer I'm painting it black & gold.

Thanks guys, the pickups are lace Alumitones. Some video was shot of the show and there's a nice close up of the guitar at about 1:12 into it. It's worn... seen its fair share of drops to the floor over its life I imagine, being so heavy, the underside is dented to hell.
For a while I was craving more grunt from the bridge, and stuck a BKP Warpig in there. But missed the 'open' sounding dynamics of the stock HB, one of the best pickups I've ever heard. So back to stock.

Agreed! For some reason those 65 reissues wear down faster than the 62 reissues. Type of laquer I guess.
It looks more tired now than when I took that pic.
The 62avri was my favorite for the longest time, but now I'm loving the thicker neck of this one. As well as the better neck angle resulting in less bridge trouble.
