I think, i will be in if there are serious rules and a logical entrance definition. I was once not allowed to participate because of a low Post count by a Person that has been member here far shorter than me. And all with no direct answer.

A good bst Track would be nice too.

what about a fina decision committee
3or5 trustees of the ilfss
all get the list of want ins
should be able to figure out whos who
this way it aint on one person to cut
the mod can pick his homies
just for final aproval
this way the cut is anonymous
no hard feelings
theres always next year
or maybe theres a bum deal that went unnoticed
cause in some generous cases its a $200 risk
i hare to talk about it like business
but id be devastated
more about the dick factor
but you also look forward to the surprise

suggestions for rules:

Must-have: at least one good mention in the good trader reference thread
Secondary: either meeting a minimum of 1000 posts or someone that vouches for you that has 1000 and does enter.

Someone that no one participating objects to as the game master (MEC would be fine for me) the GM does not get to enter.
A board of trustees, that has a last say on all of the entries, between 3 and 5 people that get the list and look through it. These people are also responsible to bug flakes with emails and call on moderation or the lynch mob if stuff does not get resolved. (I would volunteer for this)

Entries are accepted until last of October.
By Nov.4th (Monday) the assignments should be going out.
Gifts should be there until before christmas (if international shipping is needed, this might not work, hold that into account) if not, please notify the GM, so that he can warn the giftee. If by the end of January nothing has showed up, not even a shipping notification, then the stake shall be prepared.
Send with trackable services.
Have fun.

But there are different types of tracking. Something that you can track the whole way from country A to country B is often pretty expensive, but you can get simpler tracked stuff where you can follow it to the border - I've never tried, but I'd reckon these sort of packages would have to be easier to find internationally than normal shit - and perhaps most importantly you can see that it's left the sender and left the country. I think the odds that the post fucks up are a lot lower than someone flaking out on SS. Also, there are some dudes on here who always seem to know how to ship stuff cheap, maybe we should have a shipping advice sticky or something with the best way to ship stuff from different countries.

I ship to the states a fair bit, and get stuff from you duders all the time and I don't think it's too horrible. If you get someone in another country and shipping will sting you just go a bit more cheap on the pressie - it's the stalking that counts anyway, not the actual gift.

I totally can't afford this but the wife says it'd be rad to do, so if Uni gives the gig his approval I'm down. I figure he knows stuff and am throwing my lot in with him.

man this thread has gotten huge since i last chimed in!

+1 on keeping it within continents at least. it works even w/ odd numbers, just A to B, B to C & C to A. or have previous years always been in pairs?

i've been sending out stuff with the cheaper tracking option (trackable throughout EU i think) and i've been receiving stuff trackable within US/EU since forever

never really had a problem :idk:

and this way it's not even that expensive i mean USA->EU is something like 15 dollars

last year, I got a package from Australia and shipped to Canada

no problems, i'm all for global SS
