sorry if someone's already typed this out...
moog's minifooger series kicks off five incredible stompboxes. based on moog's super-popular mf-102 ring modulator, the mf ring provides you with a unique tone control that lets you create cool and creative effects that are refreshingly playable. add an expression pedal and you can conjure up crazy sweeps and intense pitch effects. the mf trem covers the gamut from classic opto tremolo effects to full-on phase and chorus. with its interactive tone and mix controls you can craft sweet swells, percussive rhythms and more. a genuine bucket brigade circuit bolstered by a vintage compander at the heart of the mf delay delivers up to 650ms of repeats that bloom naturally and decay organically into an almost reverb-like trail. swell up feedback or manipulate delay times with the addition of an expression pedal. the mf boost offers you two fantastic signal paths: a clean vca and a delightfully clipped ota, and the ota-based mf drive serves up a sweepable moog ladder filter for creamy overdrive with amazing pick definition.
ring - 149
trem - 179
delay - 199
boost - 139
drive - 189
ring - tone, mix, freq
trem - shape, tone, speed, depth
delay - time, feedback, drive, mix
boost - gain, boost switch, level, tone
drive - gain, drive switch, output, tone, peak switch, filter

Heard from a dealer. He said he "got them" last week, dont know if they were demos or for sale, but he said he did not care for them. But he said it in a much meaner way.

Hmm. Based on the controls the only one I'd want to try would be the Drive really... Even if they sound as good as the bigger ones, no LFO on the Ring and Delay is no fun.

w/ the expression in though they could be chained with something else's LFO. i'm still not excited about 'em, just sayin'.

^ true, true. It's just that not many people have stuff like that on their pedalboards so its kinda against the point of having smaller pedals that more people would want to put on their guitar or bass boards. Still more of a modular thing unless you're happy with the simpler control set.
I think it's great that moog is making these but it's not exactly anything innovative. There are already plenty of good sounding simple delays and ring mods and trems out there.

heehee. Ok, well the words are fading from my memory, but he said they were bad. Disappointing. I don't remember which one he said was the worst, but he seemed to feel, as I do, that it's kind of a desperate move. We discussed something we've been seeing clear as day in the last couple years.
Cut off the head, the body dies. Companies that are run by next level humans, geniuses, visionaries, etc. Steve Jobs, Bob Moog, in particular. This guy said he knew Dr. Moog. And to him, and myself, it seems like they used up what they could translate from his notes, but without that visionary perspective and ability, there's only so much you can do with some leftover information.
Not that I am anywhere near a Moog or Jobs, but if I shuffled loose this mortal coil, nobody, I mean nobody, could finish my work. Because the plans are written in my own language, but more importantly, from my unique perspective. I'm talking about future projects, not fucking Eau Claire Thunder. As soon as a product is in production over here, it's paint by number.
Anyway, that's the vibe from Moog right now. Not to mention the battle over the archives, the removal of Bob's prototype pics from the website... ugh.
But as far as the pedals go: No big deal. But they will sell, at least at first. Never mind the dozens of great drives and boosts and delays already being built, even right here at ILF...

that.... is a good point. not only that it's the mental reach and sight that some people have that can imbue a company with greatness, but if there ARE paths meant to be explored, the notes left over might not make sense on a bunch of levels to whoever tries to work off of them.
Dr. Moog was such a force in music. he'll be missed.
...... but i will never pronounce his name right. it's Moooooog like a cow saying it damnit, not Mogue like Madonna recalling her heyday after dental surgery.

Interesting remarks there Aen. Hadn't thought of it quite like that before. You can definitely see it with Apple. Will be curious to see which way things go with Moog.

meh. Jobs didn't do shit but steal other people's designs and work, pretty it up with a cute interface that allows you less control, then vigorously sue anybody that did the same to him.
he was a bad person. and i'm actually more excited to see where they go now that his evil ass isn't in charge.
