Ive had two. Both were awesome.

I've seen tons of garage bands playing old hagstroms

um so can these actually be copped for around $500 in good conditions?

I got a sunburst one with two pickups in good condish for $250 and my red one was a trade for a pair of jeans. So yes. All day err day.

I have no idea what those dudes are smoking asking that. Theres a sunburst haggy 3 on gcu right now for 500

Heres a black one for 525 http://www.gbase.com/gear/hagstrom-ii-1963-black

Heres the nicest hagstrom 2 ive ever seen in my life. You can actually see woodgrain!!! Looks like a one piece body which puts it reeeeeally early in production as they switcked to bodies made out of like seven hundred pieces shortly thereafter. $625 http://reverb.com/item/9035-hagstrom-ha ... s-sunburst

Both of these are OBO. If youre looking for one lowball them and dont look back.

I'm in Canada so I don't see Maton's around much (at all really). Do any of our Australian members play them/have opinions on them?

I would love the Josh Homme signature: http://maton.com.au/product/bb1200-jh

I haven't owned a Maton but I've played a few of the current-ish production model electrics. They're pretty easy to find over here (obviously) but they're still not that cheap really..
The Josh Homme signature is honestly one of the nicest guitars i have EVER played, the finish is gorgeous in person and it sounds killer. Ticket price is like $3400 though
The cheaper ones aren't bad but not as good as a lot of other stuff in the same price range imo. I wish they would come out with more models, they rarely update anything nowadays.

Yeah I saw the price tag on the Josh Homme signature and was really disappointed, although I guess its in the same range as any Gibson or Fender signature. I'd love to try one out still though. Looks so incredibly sexy.

I have a ms500 . It's rad. They can be copped here fairly cheaply on used market ($500-700) because people are dumb and want fenders and gibsons. :idk:

I haven't tried any of the super new ones they have had small changes to body styling and scale length and junk over the last few years.

Yeah people are dumb always wanting Fenders and Gibsons. Same thing happens here; Godin is a mostly Canadian (also some in the States) manufacturer and yet no one I know has even heard of them.

Godin has some pretty cool, rarely seen guitars too.

The LGX-SA is pretty awesome:
Godin LGX-SA.jpg

And super versatile. It has an acoustic pickup and midi output:

And their acoustics are awesome:

And I've always wanted their jazz guitar too:
