HHH Strats.
signature-model guitars that make a likeable design uglier and more expensive, e.g. the Synyster Gates Schecters.
lack of semi-hollowbody basses...where are the EB-2/Starfire clones?

Active pickups. They just sound dead to me. And on top of that having to replace the battery.

I know some people like them, but for me personally, my hate.

As far as i know, Zombie and Dead Throne are both after they started exclusively fenders. They might have JB's in the bridge, but still. I loved going to see them and seeing a Jazzy on stage

Same here. I knew they were using JMs, but I was really surprised to see him use a Mustang.
Also, man do they have some red hot First Acts.

on that tip, the whole "if i buy all the kit that player x has, i will be cool / be validated / sound just like him/her" culture needs to excuse itself from the table.

Not hating Gilmore at all, I love him. But as you know no amount of gear will really make you sound like anyone else... even if you can actually play exactly like another person... which is..

My message is more about this piece of gear will make you sound like that... Marketing trends.
