Active pickups. They just sound dead to me. And on top of that having to replace the battery. I know some people like them, but for me personally, my hate.

As far as i know, Zombie and Dead Throne are both after they started exclusively fenders. They might have JB's in the bridge, but still. I loved going to see them and seeing a Jazzy on stage

Same here. I knew they were using JMs, but I was really surprised to see him use a Mustang.

on that tip, the whole "if i buy all the kit that player x has, i will be cool / be validated / sound just like him/her" culture needs to excuse itself from the table.

Please don't hate on Gilmour. I like actually liking all of you. I wouldn't anything to get in the way of that.

Not hating Gilmore at all, I love him. But as you know no amount of gear will really make you sound like anyone else... even if you can actually play exactly like another person... which is..

My message is more about this piece of gear will make you sound like that... Marketing trends.

The pursuit of Vintage-ness as divorced from any real, quantifiable, even remotely describable quality that one should seek.
