Not showing up for no reason is real lame but breaking their shit is worse. Who would do that?

I'm not sure I understand the joke here, is there one?

When I made that post, I was under the dude that started trashing the stage and breaking shit was bragging about it on reddit and posted a picture of his trophy from the event: a piece of Zach's kick. I, as well as many people(not sure how many of them are here though), harbor disdain for redditors that motivated me to post prematurely. I later found out that the story only broke on reddit and that the guy with a piece of Zach's drum posted to twitter. My post was supposed to be a joke in the, "absurd internet cliche brought to reality," sense, but it failed due to me being misinformed and the joke being made in somewhat bad taste.

If I was as big-shit as death grips are and I started no-showing I would HOPE the audience would ruin my shit. Seriously weak sauce. All it takes is a fuckin' phone call.

I am so FUCKING sick and tired of this lazy attitude and behavior. It's a fucking cancer on the world. If I had a dollar for every time I got fucked by someone who just didn't give a shit about "the plan" I would be a rich rich man. If you have a good reason to fuck me and the plan, then call. Or text. If you don't? Then fuck your shit.

I was just about to get into this band, and say "hey, you know what? Good idea, picking up where MG and the pants left off." But after this? Fuck Some Death Grips. Be a little professional, be a little considerate to your audience.

You know what happens in the real world when you don't show up for work? You get fired. If my kids behaved like this, you better believe they'd lose a drum kit or two.

These dudes manage to piss off soooo many people, including their fans, but I can't help but admire their sheer vision and balls to do things exactly how they want to do them. Imho they're the most genuinely punk band in eons. I know that's easily when I wasn't one of the people who paid for a ticket to one of their "no-Show" shows though.

Screw that "punk" ethos crap. I'm tired of punk being trotted out as an excuse for being an asshole. If you don't want to play shows, don't book shows. If you don't want a label dictating anything, don't sign to a label.
Disrespecting the people that give you the opportunity to do what you love to do is so dumb.

I meant "Punk" in that they seem to things their way and their way only. They have always said that Death Grips is going to be whatever they want it to be, in terms of line-up, live shows, etc. These "no-show" shows were apparently planned that way. While I can imagine it was extremely frustrating to be a crowd member at one of those shows, if you're along fr the Death Grips ride you can expect a chance of getting butthurt by their artistic statements. I think part of what makes them more acceptable to me is that I don't get the impression these things are done just for the sake of them being dicks.

If I was a fan of Death Grips, I would want to see Death Grips. Being a planned prick doesn't make you not a prick.
Maybe I'm not high minded enough for their "art."
