You got her into me? Odd.

I recently decided I'm going to sell one of my SVT heads. At one point she told me not to because she knows how much my gear makes me happy. What she doesn't know is that after we move out, I'll be purchasing a second 810. :D

Hahaha. She's so into you dude.

I always try to preface my gear purchase with 'I'm trading or selling this to get this' and it usually works. Most of the time

Well, a few people have told me I look like Dallas Green. Maybe that's why.

I always pull something like, "I'm trying to find my ultimate setup. There are so many pedals I want to try, so I just have to buy, trade, and sell until I get there!" It's been working, but the huge vinyl purchase didn't help. She was okay with me buying the Iron Pig because I wanted to compare it to the Rat Tail and see if I'll sell one. I'm scared I'm just going to keep both.

Yeah. My fiance got/understood/lived with the 'trying to find the ultimate setup' thing until I made my first major purchase and said I was done. And then I flipped some pedals and made another major purchase. I'm really fucking set though, and if I tell ANY of you that I'm not, y'all need to give me a talking to

I love my current setup. I just want more.

Right now my obsession is finding THE string for my P-bass. Luckily it's not as expensive as trying to find THE PEDALS.

Heh. Tell me about it. Although I HAVE been putting off buying new strings for my Kramer for the longest time cause they're 4x more expensive than guitar strings haha

I've been trading a lot of strings, so I'm not doing too bad. I actually sold a set of strings that came on my bass. ;)

That's neat, I never really even thought about doing that!

I sold a single string to my buddy for $20.

It was a .210, though.

....what do you use .210s on?
That's like...drop-bowel tuning.

Im married (obv.) and have way more gear than I need.
One day when we were talking about THE BUDGET I worked up my courage and finally blurted it out.
Now I'm saving up for a Moog Voyager, which I will buy WITH MONEY from A STORE like a grown up, totally approved by dear wife. I'll have to try that more often.

She's starting to feel a little bit better, I think. I gave her part of her Christmas present a little early this morning and she fucking LOVED it. Two hand painted sugar skull ornaments I found on Etsy that an old smoker lady made. The look on her face when she opened them. It was great:

I also told her that I paid off over half of the guitar last night straight up with money from all the shit that I sold and she said that was good. So slowly, but surely, I think it's getting better. I've been telling her all the other stuff I'm selling to pay off the rest of the guitar too.

She also made me these INCREDIBLY FUCKING AWESOME ornaments which she gave me today:

The amp is an Orange TH30 Combo (one of the new ones with the face-forward controls) and the other is an LP with my noise projects logo on it. I love her

Once I get the rest of the stuff I traded for in I'm going to flip all of it and pay the guitar off. Part of me wants to keep the KOMA and the Moog Low Pass, but I'd rather be debt free moving in next weekend.

In my experience, if the gear and woman don't mix, bust your nuts and drop the bitch.

My current gf is supportive, but I doubt she would join me on the streets when I go broke and refuse to sell my gear. That's the girl im searching for.
