OK, so nothing has changed... this is very sad.
I was so mad when I got my Spooky Tooth that I sold it.

yeah. i don't have anything personally against Mssr. Lyons, but it was the most frustrating and lie filled experience i ever had with a builder.
so.... he does good work? eventually? but not for me.

yeah, they are super nice, they look amazing. but it was a long wait and the time quoted was not rooted in any kind of reality. if he would just be more honest about the wait times...

I had same kind of experience with John as this new guy... that's why I comented.
On the other hand, I 100% agree that he's a great builder and has some great fuzz. The Mutante especially seems great, but I won't try to order again from him.

It's important for the complaints to at least come from members with a reputation here, so we all know they're real. Can we keep the fucking trolls like patrick1234 and b'boom out of here?
Since I'm here, I've only had one experience with John, and it was good. I ordered an echobase pcb from him.
Just because the newest complaint comes from a brand new member doesn't automatically mean that it's a baseless allegation from a troll. I could easily see a non-ILFer who had a problem with Basic Audio finding this thread via Google and wanting to chime in.
I've had no dealings with Basic Audio, but enough people have had problems in the past that it does give credence to claims from members without a reputation. And I certainly won't ever order from Basic Audio.

Luckily all my Basic Audio was ordered from a dealer.

yurps. the clean as butts work he posts in the BUILDY BUILDY thread is why i got at him. it was a kit build of an Octave Divider. that my interest waned on bit by bit as i'd pester him with 3 or 4 emails, get an "update" every 2 months or so, then he finally sent me a pic of just the box that looked NOTHING like what we talked about...... it was 6 or 7 months longer than we'd originally talked about at that point so i bailed and asked for a refund. only thing good i have to say about the whole thing was that he refunded my full money really quickly.

I deleted my initial message; not because I am a "fucking troll" ( ??? ), but because John answered me by e-mail and because he promised me to send me photos of my three customs pedals very quickly.
I have already eight pedals standard Basic Audio which I had bought to a dealer : these pedals are all excellent qualities and I like very much them.
What I regret only about John is because he is not very serious in this communication: I shall have preferred that he tells me the real delivery deadline.
He would have to take example on builder as Pete Cornish: this customers know that its delivery deadlines of manufacturing are very, very long, and thus, they know in what expect really = It is less testing psychologically.
In any case, I have never thought that John was a "swindler" because he had paid off to me very quickly the pedal Gnarly.
I hope that everything goes go well and that I shall receive my order as fast as possible.
I am sorry for the mistakes translation : I am a French bass player who does not speak very well your language. That is why, I do not participate on this forum a lot.

Glad to hear that things are working out for you, even if it's taken a lot longer than it should.
Your English is perfectly fine, I certainly have no trouble understanding you. Please do stick around and post more!
