This is a good question, and one I've spent some time with.
Given what you're asking for, my pick goes to the Fuzzpotion. Both of them are fantastic, but the potion is excellent at palm muting, chords, fast finger/pick playing, and doesn't get flabby or farty.
The Heavy Machine packs some MAJOR ballzz in the low end department, and I'd probably pick it over the potion
except for fast playing.
Easiest solution..... buy BOTH.

Quite fancied this for Bass fuzz. They have one available on Prymaxe and the price went down from $290 to $240.
If you get a coupon the price is not too bad at all. Used by the bass player from Boris I think.

It's just so much fun. It's kinda addicting.... Waiting for it to arrive, opening the package and seeing the shiny pretty box o'fun. Plugging it in... I can't go on. I think the DT's are starting now.

It was a wimpier, less focused, wannabe depth charge. It just didn't meld the clean and fuzz tones together in a way that made sense to me.
A bass with a GOOD blend option, will make the 2 different tones become one.

I've honestly never liked clean blends, I only used them to have one fuzz's voice coming through the other with better clarity.
Now, parallel fuzz, that's a different story.
Much more complex and brutal sounding.
In other news, I'm still full steam ahead for a Heavy Machine!!!!
