I've got both a Bass VI and an Excelsior. They sound nice together but I'm still somewhat worried about the bass
Actually now that I think about it the only times I was really worried was when I paired it with a SS/BS Buzzz......octave fuzz + Bass VI = pretty much just playing a bass :idk:
Still if you're going to mod it for a Bass VI I'd get a new speaker more suitable for bass frequencies.

Is the Buzzz octave down or up?

I honestly just assumed down because its so damned heavy :idk:

Edit: from the man himself: "a scrambled and clangy fuzz with pronounced upper octaving and lower harmonics/sub-frequencies"
I guess I'm talking about the lower harmonics and sub-frequencies

The Buzzz is so mean sounding! And an Ampeg Micro VR or an old school V2/V4 (if you need loud) is the jam on Bass VI.

I'm actually about to get a V4. I definitely plan on using it loud for Bass VI. Two piece band with a 215 and a 412 both pushed by the V4

They made this amp too cheap for TGP tone lawyer tastes.

It really is a cool little amp.

No point in me lugging about an AC30 (which i need to sell) for small time gigs (the only ones i have) and this it the bill for me.

I love the AC30 natural drive but the cleans on the excelsior are great when you can turn it up and take the 'blanket' off of it.

It's damn loud for it's size too. Need to mod a tone control into it....

I love this amp. Right now my bandmate is using it, but with three inputs I'd love to do solo lo-fi shows by plugging guitar, vox, and drum loops through it,
Youtube Channel?

I'm off to plug in guitar, Drone Commander, and some feedback-y loops/beats into mine
