Don't get me wrong, it seems useful, but wouldn't you want a little more out of a $120 pedal? :idk:

Than again, what do I know? I've only just recently really started looking closely at effects. :p

Yes and no. I have more expensive pedals that only do one thing, and I have cheaper pedals that do a ton of things. It's more dependent on if I'll use it regularly; if so, it's worth it. If not, it's not.

Not if you're a pedal-whoring effects junkie.

For $120, it only has to do 1/2 of something.

Because that pedal doesn't sound very good imo. :idk:

For me, the issue is not always how MUCH a pedal does, but how WELL it does the thing. Most of my board is arranged to be set-it-and-forget-it. The freeze does exactly what I wanted it to do - that alone was worth the price of admission.

Just of note, while i'm about, this pedal issues its hold function in a different fashion, the Freeze truly digitally samples your sound to reproduce it, the Zcat is based off reverb/delay (as culture jam noted on the Cathedral) what that means to you, I don't really know... but it wont work quite the same... (the Freeze is a more focused on the job pedal, with quick latching, layers, fading options etc.) but the Z.Cat Octave pedals are fairly tempting for a back up to my Micro Pog (with added chorus & reverb)
