i liked the Flashback a lot. especially with the downloadable stuff. i think you can DL stuff that's not delays into it to? it's a good little looper, and i remember liking the LoFi, the reverse and the slap-back.

For me, I could take or leave chorus, although a Dr Scientist Cosmichorus or an IE Polytope does sound sexy. I am willing to drop $40 on the Visual Sound one because I have had one in the past and it gets the job done. I would have to save my pennies for a bit for either of the better options above.

I had a TimeLine, loved it, sold it to help finance a bass. I was kind of considering the Flashback. Why I am thinking DelayLab though is I want one type of really ambient delay, pretty much with reverb and don't want to buy a reverb pedal, Delaylab can do that. I do like Filter Delays, Lo-Fi, Parallel Dalays, Rythmic Delays. I can make presets with those, and use an Expression pedal to control any parameter, and it can be different parameters on each patch. All of this for $200. Plus a looper. Seems like a win to me. I don't have to have all of this but for that price, I'll take it.
What delays were thinking of?

If you can live with the Visual Sound, that's not a bad place to be considering it's only $40 and all the other things you need to get.

The Delaylab looks like it's easier to operate than the Timeline, which is a huge plus. If it gets close enough soundwise on the delay types that you like that makes it a no-brainer. Especially with you wanting different delay types, presets and expression control. If you had merely wanted an ambient delay I would've said get a Ghost Disaster because it's incredibly washy and comes with reverb. Or for a Lo-Fi/analog/tape type delay you could've gotten the Lunar Echo and have the crazy modulation as a bonus. But both those pedals are over $200 so unless you're a delay nut like me, it makes a ton of sense to get the Vox (which I might still get if I have extra cash and I hear a good demo on bass).

interesting show. vocals were so washed out that i had 3 or 4 friends ask what my grrL was singing, there were a few fuck ups, but it was stuff we figured out and fixed mid song. fun to play again. fun as BUTTS.

lol. but i need to put together Soundie Is A Newb bag of cables and shtuff. the sound grrL was super nice, but she only had xlr's to the board. we have 1/4's out of the drum sampler/pad thing Paul uses and out of the audio interface for the laptop (keys). but i didn't think to bring di boxes or 1/4 cables. durp. Sound Meow had di boxes, had to borrow a few instrument cables from another band. hate being that guy.

mad fun though.

lol. small divey bar, they didna mic me or di. just said, "i dunno. turn..... up?". only brought a 2x12 and it was plenty. neat.

fuck yeah. felt GREAT. lol, also been kinda frustrated 'cause i've stopped losing weight/getting smaller from working out lately. but i used to run out of gas like 20 minutes into playing a set, was good whole 40ish minutes we played. NEAT. makes it worth all the annoying workout shit i don't like.

and yeah, it's always something. it wasn't bad tonight though. vox were a bit washed out, but this was really just a training wheels gig. figure out what is a problem live so we can address it before we play places we care about.

lol. when we were packing up i was helping my drummer boy get his shit off, i guess i forgot my pedalboard in it's Mono case on stage. on a monitor. so i heard over the mic when the next band was ready to go, "hey... Bloody Party.... i think you left a gig bag up here. can you come get it?"

when we hit a Denny's afterwards for foods, my boy started laughing and called me an ass. apparently when they said that i said back hella loud, "don't you fucking touch it.". i.. do not remember that at ALL.

damn pedals got me in their POWER.

also, the Source Ring impressed mightily. i got a few musio's in the audience asking "what was the Theremin thing you were doing?" or "dood. blue light. WASSAT.". pretty cute.
