options!
murrrrr. i am VERY happy to have a sort of compartmentalized setup which makes it feel more streamlined to me.
apparently my mixer is slowly but surely moving further and further from. Action Town.
the two synths far right (TB-03 and Liven Warps) are moving up to the Occasional Use Shelf when the EssenceFM gets in, space near the computer is for the Vector and SQ-64.
Blue Box was a goooood addition. enough to sum all the semi modular/Beepo yarea to a single stereo channel on the main mixer, easy to swap things in and out if i want a 303 acid bassline or some such.
woot?

Nice setup behndy!
I received my cases !!!! I can plug the Ochd and look at the lights turn on and off !!!!!!!
Seriously tho, the ochd didn't quite fit in there, it is a little too deep so I cut 2 pieces of a black tie-wrap, punched a hole in each one of them and place them between the case and the modules. Now it fits in really tight (the pcb touches the back plate of the case but there is no tension on it, it is flush, and you barely see it. Unprofessional but does the job and actually looks fine

All it needs now is some sweet tentacle action.

murrrrr there's a few tentacley.... things? but yes. ALWAYS room for MOAR TENTACLES.
mannnn. Varigate. fuck me if it only started right to external clocks. a blast playing with the VG4+ as the master though -

annnnnd the MicroCosm? already in love. a little chunk of that jam slowed down into MicorCosmoNautical -

definitely like the look of that VB... more attractive than the stock

Yo, I'm looking all over the internet for info on modules to achieve generative music. I always see these getting recommended: random, s&h, quantizer, clock gen and divider, lfos, seq switch, vca, attenuators, etc.
I ordered a Pachinko (Mutable Marbles in less hp), and I wonder what does it cover exactly ? I've read a bit on it but I'm still not quite sure what I can eliminate from the list. Would I still need clock generators/dividers ? Random ? S&H ? Obviously I'll get other modules for vca, lfo and attenuation for examples.
Take this video by mylarmelodies: Would pachinko replace the turing machine + pulse expander and quantizer at the same time? or just turing+quant ? Does it cover even more ? S&H ?

So far I have or ordered pachinko, nRings, Rebel Tech Mix 02, Zzzorb filter and Ochd. With this, I only have 48hp left. My go for more later but if I could have a great generative ambient music focused small setup that would be cool.

Honestly, you have a fairly solid setup for minimal generative ambient music.
Marbles provides three channels of random gates and CV with a lot of control and interaction between the channels. Depending on the settings, the random gates can be set with different clock divisions/multiplication and different degrees of randomness. There is also internal quantization for the CV as well as a 4th CV output that is dedicated to smooth random CV. The Deja Vu control lets you lock in the random CV or random gates and slowly evolve it over time. Watch some of DivKid's YouTube videos on Marbles to get a better sense of what it does. They are long, but informative. I don't remember everything that Marbles can do, and I never owned the Pulse expander for the Turing Machine, but, in the simplest form, you could almost consider Marbles as 3 Turing Machines with quantizers and clock dividers/multipliers.
I would say that there aren't any other modules you "need" to start making generative, ambient music. Combining Marbles with Rings and Ochd will give you a lot of options to start. I would say if you're actually missing anything to start, it would be an envelope generator; preferably one with CV control over the attack and decay stages. Other than that, I would strongly recommend waiting until you receive your modules and get to know them before worrying about getting anything else. I think the biggest mistake a lot of people make when they get into eurorack (myself included) is to rush into it, buy a bunch of exciting modules, but then not spend enough time really learning them before moving onto the next exciting module. This will put you in a state of constantly looking for what's missing instead of actually looking at what's already there in front of you.

yeahhhhhhh. i know how much it sucks waiting on new loots, but. i have done that a bunch. ordered things. went ahead and ModGrid'd into a new setup. ordered something ELSE. before the FIRST THINGS SHOWED UP.
patience is goooood. explore what you already have?
woot! glad they show progress!

Oh jeez, I just watched Redmeansrecording video on the winterbloom castoe and pollux... I want a sequencer now

I'm thinking korg sq64.
These tracks, even if not really my style or what I'd listen to, are pure fire!
Must...resist...

don't buy circus gear just because the show was good
but sequencers in euro are the best.

I have no other sequencer (except blackbox but it is only midi) and don't really have space to put a sequencer module in so the korg sq64 seems like a good option and is not too expensive. Keystep pro might be cool too but a little more expensive. I'll wait a bit, just like I'll wait to buy other modules cause I went hard last week but yeah this is giving me ideas

i'm just saying.
why.
why the Everlasting Kitten Of Zoom Filter Faith.
WHY do they put the damn jacks on the back of desktop CV sequencers.
on the top of the front panel.
where you can see them.
PLEASE.
