Hey, Arcade Fire are Baroque Pop, no where near folk. They use all sorts of fuzz, alternate tunings, full orchestration, and shouty, gritty vocals.
The Shins are indie pop.
Andrew Bird is sparse, but still not folk at all. He actually thinks about his music rather than replays the same old shit.
I think you're confusing bands with violin with indie-folk music.
Otherwise yeah, you're spot on. Except you forgot Bon Iver...

I love scarfs, they go great with my sweaters and tweed jackets
These bands have become just as cheesy as the hair bands from the 80's. There're too many warm, oaky, analog love songs, it's time for some cold, machined, digital hate.

To infinity and forever. They sucked when they were called Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band, too.
And I like harmonies as much as the next guy, but I prefer my folk wielded by foxy women with voices from beyond (ala Sandy Denny) or craggy old dudes with fewer teeth than strings on their banjos.

Every time I hear Mumford and Sons on the radio I feel like punching something.
But I'll keep my Bon Iver and Bright Eyes, thanks

No fucking kidding. I've been complaining about this for a couple years now.
and the rest of them can all go suck each other's dicks and stop reviving/stealing from the past.
And fuck you if that didn't offend you.
Haha yeah I was offended several times there.

Btw it still didn't come. I'm srsly never using UPS again. Totally not worth the $2 I saved..

Sufjan's latest album is digitalized up the ass and sort of glorious.
and I REALLY REALLY like the shins, one of the best bands to make it feel like it's just fucking pouring outside, on a sunny summer day.
Other than that, yes.
